I feel like Spinel knew Amethio and Liko would escape, as the Explorer's plan was to delay help, not stop. If anything, Spinel gives off the energy that he even made the crack in the ground specifically so his Beheyeem would catch Amethio helping Liko. He gives off the energy that he plans that far ahead, and that makes him both insanely dangerous as a villain and exciting to watch. Legit, i cant wait to see what happens next episode, and like you, this episode got me so hype!! By far one of the coolest episodes to date

I LOVED this! The fact that Hamber/Sidian/Coral didn't IMMEDIATELY believe in Amethio betraying everyone, and they questioned it, and even at the end they looked slightly conflicted about it... it's genuinely so awesome. It shows just how much thought the writers are putting into making sure each of these characters are their own distinct people, and not getting lost in the crowd. They feel so real. I can't wait to see if this leads to anything down the line! 🔥

If I had to guess Amethio’s arc, he’ll stray on his own for a while until the Rising Volt Tacklers offer him to join. However, after traveling with them for a while, he’ll take Terapagos & the Six Heroes once Liko has acquired them since he’s given the opportunity to gain Gibeon’s forgiveness. Then, everything will come to a clash in Lakua when Amethio is forced to make a choice in the final confrontation but ultimately decides to join Liko & the Rising Volt Tacklers again

HZ constantly dropping peak every week. The best part of the episode easily was conversation between Liko and Amethio. And it's neat, how their journeys had the same beginning and same goal yet with different ways towards that goal. Spinel is just as a*hole as he always is. Kinda funny how Chalse and Spinel were ready to set Amethio up yet Coral and Sidian hesitated. Finale of this arc seems promising as well with Explorers attacking the school. My theory is that Liko will eventually put serious work at helping to defeat Explorers and as gratitude Grusha will pass Liko.

@@kevinlee7678 i count Mesaze Pokemon Master also as a part of the "Journeys" anime. Even in English version, the title is Master Journeys. There's an episode i don't understand why is it there, an episode about Shuppet(?) and Kid Nurse Joy. Why is it not in the main Journeys? Why is it in Ash's last season? 😂 The whole Journeys isn't a bad series, I watched the every episodes every week, just... for me if i could make a story for Ash's last appearance, it would be focusing just to Ash. Many Journeys' episodes are focused on Goh, I was fine with it since that time i didn't know that was Ash's last "journeys", his last anime. Even sometimes Ash looks more newbie than Goh. For me recommending Journeys is harder in my heart than convincing someone to watch SM because they never watch it in the first place just because of the artstyle changed

Pokemon Journey was a disaster, but it still had its moments (Ash getting a Lucario, the Celebi episode, Lillie's arc being concluded and of course Ash VS Leon). But yeah, Pokemon Horizons puts pretty much every past series on shame (maybe except DP and SM which I consider the only other good ones overall).

A lot of people are making Zuko comparisons, and while I love the idea of Amethio taking a similar path, it does have me a bit worried. Zuko chased Aang to the point of obsession, cut off people who cared about him like Iroh in the process, and made even greater enemies with Team Avatar when he spat in the face of their attempts to relate to him Makes me wonder if Amethio will act similarly, trying so hard to win back the trust of his grandfather that he ends up hurting his Pokemon and/or Zirc and Conia in doing so, maybe going too far against the RVT that gets one of them hurt, and if he tries to be an ally to them later (potentially after learning the Explorers’ goals may not be as altruistic as he thinks) they may not believe him or trust him, even Liko. Whatever path Amethio walks now, I get the feeling it won’t be pretty for him

Amethio is basically zuko at home. Thankfully zuko at home is still really good. I love it. The last two episodes have been fantastic as I feel like we're getting out of the training arc and back in to what Horizons really wants to be, stepping a bit away from the traditional pokemon anime again and moving back in its own direction. I'm excited to see Friede rejoin the group, and I think the main characters are going to be a lot more competent from here on out. This episode is making it pretty clear that Liko isn't going to complete her terrastal training course.. but instead going to get something even better. She's going to need to work for it, explore a second path, as the episode so eloquently puts it, but it's going to be awesome. I'm betting on some sort of terastalization involving Terapagos, where she'll be able to do it without a tera orb, maybe even unlocking a once per battle tera stellar for all of her pokemon. Competitively, tera stellar may not be the best tera type, but in the anime... I think that would be very cool.

I also thought it was interesting that half of the explorers were having doubts about what spinel presented and wanted to let amethio explain himself - I wonder if there’s a future conflict there. grusha on the snowboard was so great too.

Kind of sad that even Coral and Sidian were doubtful of Spinel's "evidence" enough to give Amethio a chance to explain himself, but his own Grandad didn't even give him the chance and just booted him. Hamber also looked surprised when Gibeon just cast judgement instantly. Poor Amethio, Spinel is a real jerk but i do gotta give props for intelligence. Hopefully his conversation with Liko will eventually lead him to joining or at least helping the Tacklers. I doubt he will just switch sides immediately though, helping Gibeon is Amethio's goal and clearly something he's been working towards for a while, likely since he was young. So its unlikely he'll go against Gibeon right away, he'll blame Spinel for getting him kicked out but will likely seek ways to redeem himself to Gibeon at first. Though perhaps through journeying on his own he may start to question Gibeon's goals, we'll have to see. Still this will definitely be the start of a big change for Amethio, thats for sure.

If I recall correctly it wasnt said that Grushia couldnt snowboard again, but more that his injury, while it healed, wouldnt let him play *competitively* as well as he used too so he switched to Pokemon battling. So - he can still snowboard, he simply cant push it as hard as he eused to be able too

Amethio the entire time was a wolf among snakes but I do like how Obsidian and Hamber was going to stand up for him and even Sango wanted to hear Amethio out as if the set up was too dirty even for her. I feel like Spinel knew of Gibeon's feelings towards his father for straying from the Explorers which makes you wonder what happened and he basically exploited those negative feelings and threw Amethio under the bus. Sort of like how in Shield Hero, Myne exploited her father Altcray's hatred towards the previous Shield Hero and demis to get her way until she was exposed for it. It looks like he even got Agate to be fully in on it while Sango and Obsidian are just playing along at the time. Amethio at least makes it clear that he doesn't like the methods his fellow Explorers employs and that he makes it clear that he will get Rayquaza and Terrapagos the old fashion way going as far as to warn Liko of Spinel's treachery knowing she and the other Volt Tacklers will be dealing with him more in the future especially now that he has an understanding on how to utilize a pokemon intoxication drug to possibly exploit Terrapagos.

I came to the comment to basically write this with extra steps. I'm starting to wonder if Amethio is the grandson of both Lucian and Gibeon and if they are literally pulling that storyline: Two now former friends grew into an argument, 2 generations later their paths have joined yet again. Zuko's Grandfathers were the Fire Lord that actually started the war (Ozai just kept it going), and Roku the Avatar Previous to Aang. So Amethio being the Grandson of Gibeon, the person that wants to use Lachua for his own selfish goals AND the protector of Lachua... Just would further solidify both your analogy and the dichotomy of Amethio's character.

The way the things were heading, I could tell that Amethio would eventually either betray his comrades or be set up by Spinel and fired from the organization altogether. I gotta say though, it happened a lot sooner than I expected. The latter outcome ended up happening and I figured that one was more likely to happen than the other. Something, well, 2 things that have gotten me curious is the identity of Amethio's father, even if it ultimately ends up not mattering in the end, he's so far sounding like a fairly significant character, I can't shake the feeling that it could potentially be someone we've already met in the series, but yeah that's likely not the case. The other thing is what made him leave the explorers, but not be there to save his son from...well, shall we say, ''indoctrination''. So far we know he ''strayed from the path'' as Gibeon put it, but the question is how things ended for Amethio's father, was he set up to fail like his son was in this episode, or did he actually strike out?

There are so many ways the Amethio “redemption/anti-hero” arc could go down. Would he be reluctant to join another group so soon after getting booted from the Explorers? Is he truly alone or will his two “followers” try to help him? Will Ceruledge be the one to pull him out of his slump? The writers did kinda fumble on the Dot and Roy vs Onyx and Sango fight. They could’ve had the two Explorers literally box the two in-Stone Edge for the barrier, ice to keep from immediately smashing through it. Rather than the two kids mostly being on the back foot.

I doubt him zirc and onia are going to join the RVT there is no room on the ship for them it is why Diana had to sleep on the couch 8 rooms is all it has. Also it would be way better amethio and his crew go to his dad and other family for a few episodes and his dad and other family are knights and they train as a new knight order that save people and Pokémon like the gmen, aura guardians, rangers etc and we see them doing knight missions from time to time with COTD or people not from the main cast like Diana or Anne etc. They will be allies to the RVT but have more to do besides just following the RVT.

Glad this episode had Liko and Amethio starting a dynamic that might develop further in their later encounters. Part of me feels like Amethio might shift from being Friede's rival to Liko's as both of them are foils to one another. Even their main Pokemon's Types (or future Type in Floragato's case) counter each other: fire beats Grass, Dark beats Ghost. I do worry that Amethio might grow even more obsessed with proving himself to Gibeon by being even more determined to take Terapagos from Liko.

The thing with Roy and dot here- they did not want to battle. They were in a rush to find liko, so the last thing they were thinking about was putting up an actual good fight. They were actively trying to distract Sango and Onyx so they could flee.

I'm definitely thinking he's Pokémon's Zuko, but he's not gonna join up with the RVT anytime soon. This is Spinel pulling the wool over his grandfather's eyes, Amethio needs something more to shake his faith in Gibeon specifically. I think ousting Amethio will instead make him double down to try and get back in his grandfather's good graces. Kind of like the reclaiming one's honor portion of Zuko's storyline. He'll have some big screw up later that shatters Liko's trust in him/the notion of teaming up, but then he'll find out something awful about Gibeon that causes him to bail, like maybe what Gibeon did to Lucius that made Terapagos hate him so much, and that's when he'll go to team up and try to make things right.

There's some guarantee that Ame wouldn't be harmed if they left, but if they took Ame, they would be all be killed. Gibeon's used their absence to indoctrinate the kid. I'm thinking more Ame trying to reclaim his honor. The Avatar parallels this episode really made me think about Zuko's character arc, and how Zuko doubled down when we all thought he was going to redeem himself in Ba Sing Se. Amethio needs something to shake his faith in his grandfather, this is Spinel manipulating things to make him look bad in his grandfather's eyes. I feel like he plans to take all the power for himself and either it works, or Anethio’s grandfather will already be aware and have Spinel’s master plan explode in his face. 11:00-11:06 As a Star Wars fan myself, I love that you included this in your Pokémon Horizons episode review. I just watched this episode right now, and I really enjoyed it mostly because of the scenes featuring Liko and Amethio together. I like that they finally understand each other as two individuals who want to reach Laqua rather than just hero and villain respectively. Also, Amethio being fired from the Explorers surprised me, but it really makes excited that now he will go through an arc similar to Zuko from _Avatar: The Last Airbender (2005 TV series)_ . Overall, I give this episode an 8/10.

Honestly I can see the main villains being Spinel & Agate following Gibeon to Rakua, and the other members of the explorers having revolted. Amethio will 100% not be joining the Explorers again after this. Coral, Sideon, and Hamber (Amethio’s mentor?) were hesitant on weather or not Amethio fully betrayed them, and since they seem to be about as young as Amethio I think there’s a chance they can persuaded to join the Rising Volt Tacklers side ina final battle. But fr tho, Spinel having set this up so that Amethio and Liko need to work together is like EVIL GENIUS levels. But I don’t think he realizes he just make their bond stronger. He probably doesn’t care though, since his only goal is to get Gibeon’s heir out of the picture.

I honestly didnt think they would possibly set Amethio up as an Anti-Hero, but rather as someone on the opposing side that has some honor or pride, like Chase Young in Xiaolin Showdown. BUT seeing this episode, it totally makes sense for Amethio to be the anti hero who does his own thing of this pokemon series with what has transpired

This is DEFINITELY one of the BEST episodes so far. Loved the fact that Amethio was the one to wake Liko up from her slump. Definitely makes sense that the Academy course is not the only way to get Terastallization. Anyways, what's stopping her from using the orb if she doesn't report to the Academy again😈 150/10 episode. I really _really_ hope we get a Zuko vs Zhao parallel when all the conflicts reach their peak where Spinel would be falling to an open-interpretation death or something and Amethio reaches out to him but he's like 'I'd rather die than take your hand' cuz that is the kinda guy Spinel feels like. Amethio is now Season 2 Zuko, neither with the villain nor with the heroes. Just finding his footing. I can also see the 'Friede and Amethio being like dad-son' hopes of the fandom come true, Friede already treats him like a kid. I am pretty sure Gibeon (I was calling him Gideon this whole time🙈) is one of the original Explorers travelling with Lucius (Liko's grandmother said Explorers used to be Lucius' friends). Amethio must look really like a young Gibeon who travelled with Lucius, which is why Terapagos is reacting weirdly to him. I have two theories regarding Lucius and the Explorers: 1. Lucius is in Rakua alone, which is why the Explorers are working against him since they feel betrayed and why his team is all scattered over the world and regards the Explorers with bitterness as they think they were the ones who took Lucius away. [Probablity- 12.5%] 2. Explorers betrayed Lucius just before they reached Rakua, thus his team was scattered after his demise and the Explorers now want to capture Rekkuza and Terapagos to reach Rakua. Terapagos is blaming Gibeon/Amethio for Lucius' expiration. [Probability- 60%]

Sango, Onyx and Hamber wanted to hear Amethio's side of story, but his own grandfather didn't. It really hurts to think that this was the same episode where he talked so highly of him. I want to say it out, I have always been a fan of characters with a serious personality and are actually very strong (like Amethio, Alain, N or Gladion). But Amethio has become my most favourite character now in the entire franchise.

20 min. Pokefarlax review, woohoo 🙌🎉! I don't have enough words to describe this episode; besides the nitpick about Roy and Dot's battle, which I agree with, this is definitely close to a big 10/10! I definitely wasn't expecting the ending. The only thing that would have made it better is if Amethio had told the story of his father, like why did he side with his grandfather instead? Maybe that could be addressed in the future.🤔 But most importantly, I wonder what will Amethio do now - will he follow his own path no matter what others think of him, or will he cave in and seek his grandfather's forgiveness? It will take a while for him to regain his composure so I bet we'll see a major character development arc for him soon. Whatever happens I hope Onia and Zirc stick with Amethio and give him support.💎💎💎 I suspect Spinel will cause major infighting within the Explorers, wasn't it implied that he would betray Gibeon if given the chance too? Who knows, maybe Coral and Sidian will also switch sides in the far, far future.😮

This is was literally the best ever episode OMG it had everything i needed to see, hear and much more the whole Amethio and Liko talk writer did everything i wanted to be talked about and i loved it and Amethio deep inside has really sincere and gentle side especially towards Liko especially when they were escaping the cave and he offered her a hand🥰🥰🥰. Roy and Dot yeah losing was little dirty but i guess writer wanted to show even if they bonded and got stronger doesn't mean they are perfect. Now the end listen i love and respect Spinel so much as a Villain but this end scene made me really wanna punch him in the face so much he literally traped Amethio in the cave to make him "dissappear" but also had a backup plan if that would not work he can show to everyone how Amethio is helping the enemy, because Spinel knew Amethio has that little sincerity and kindness towards Liko and he used that sincerity and kindness to his advantage what a SLIMY SCUMBAG uhh i gotta give it to Spinel he really is smart and always 2 steps ahead of getting what he wants and the fact that Gibeon trusted his workers instead of his OWN GRANDSON and kicked him out that was just hard to watch i felt so bad for Amethio, plz Amethio get your revenge on Spinel right now you deserve so better 10/10 episode.

Amethio, zirc and onia will not be joining the RVT on their airship there is no room its why Diana had to sleep on the couch and he even said he will take his own path. So those 3 are most likely going to find amethio dad and other family who I think are knights since its amethio whole theme and they get their own airship and make a knight crew and go on knight missions from time to time like gmen, aura guardians, rangers etc.

I’m still positive like will get to keep her Tera orb in one of two ways. 1. The trailer for the next episode shows her battling onyx. Maybe she will defeat him and this will be witnessed by calvel and/or Geeta and they will let her keep her Tera orb as a thank you for saving the academy. 2. The trainers from the Terastal training course are shown battling each other and the episode after that has Liko vs Roy so my theory is that maybe trainers who failed the implantation test are told they have one more chance if they can beat someone whom did pass.

I would guess that Amethio will try to go after black Rayquaza by himself in order to prove himself to his grandfather and get revenge on Spinel for framing him by showing the footages of him helping Liko out of the cave and not catchingTerapagos which got Amethio expelled from the Explorers. I don't know what's going to happen in "Pokémon Rayquaza Rising." but Amethio will to make a decision whether to continued to help his grandfather or change side to join Liko and the Rising Volt Tacklers.

13:49 - Ever since this series began, I’ve been comparing these Explorers to Sailor Moon villains. Amethio being the Jadeite of the group, Because, like him, he got cast out of the organization before revealing vital information from the “enemy”. Gibeon “never wanting to see his face again” could be interpreted as *throw him out* or *lock him up.* Then again, I’m sure that the explorers are not really in a room together… Again. But... they were all working around the same area so… maybe the next time we see the explorers, they’re either throwing Amethio out or locking him up.

As for Liko’s part, while I do like how she now understands that she doesn’t necessarily need her path to be about Terastallization, one of the future episode titles makes me feel that this little point is worthless, since the title implies that Liko will somehow continue her Terastal Training.
