I think that’s what makes Blue Kaizo so interesting. It makes the game feel like that ultra-challenging adventure we all thought RBY was. Obviously, by the second time we played through, we all figured out how easy the game really was. Kaizo ramps up the challenge to ridiculous levels - but to me, it’s amazing how little is changed in the game feel, in spite of how wide-scale the changes were.

Dodrio is bird Persian. In gen 1, it's considered the best non legendary flying type. It even had a stint in OU for a time in "Crit Spam" builds. Consisting of Tauros, Persian, and Dodrio

Psyduck in this hack learns Amnesia via lvl up, but it's at around lvl 52, and it doesn't learn it as Golduck. I don't think it's worth it, but late game you'll come across wild Psyduck at lvl 51. If you want to wait on TM's, and swap your current Psyduck out with that late game one later, that may be worth considering. Also, you don't earn EV's in this hack. That's why Calcium and HP UP don't work. So freshly caught pokemon and raised pokemon aren't different other than just moves. Most pokemon don't learn a lot of moves and the ones that do have late moves that are better in every way, so there's almost no reason not to catch a higher lvl version of a pokemon that you already had but hadn't trained yet.

Lv 100 weedle was a cute surprise. Saw pokemon challenges playthrough of crystal kaizo, and in that game. There's a bug catcher with lv 80 caterpie and weedle.

Couple things I learned playing this hack a few years back: wild pokemon will have better moves than they'd otherwise get via level up when encountered late game. Cinnabar Mansion has like every fire type with their best moves in the wild. A lot of people will actually just have no level up moves because you're intended to just catch them later, hence Meowth learning nothing. I'd also recommend a Clefairy for the team, Clefable carried my team through the elite 4 and champion battle.

I am fairly certain Pokémon like Beedrill got a nice buff to the Attack stat. So Twinneedle is actually viable since it can also Poison other Poison types.

You diss Dodrio but Dodrio's actually just a better Fearow, being the same speed stat but higher Attack while only being very slightly more fragile (but better Defense), and Fearow's already just better than Pidgeot because Pidgeot's just... not very good. Dodrio also has a leg up on Fearow and Pidgeot by also having access to Body Slam, otherwise the other two birds don't have anything super noteworthy that could be considered "better" than Dodrio other than Fearow having Mirror Move (but I don't remember anyone singing praises about that). Dodrio's pretty underrated by most people imo These days Dodrio and Pidgeot both got a buff to speed (Dodrio having 110 in Attack *and* Speed) but Fearow hasn't gotten a stat buff, unfortunately, though did get Drill Run so that's something.

The final fight on the route north of Cerulean was kinda awesome. That npc's iq seemed so high (like a miniboss) until it did a 180 on its final pokemon, I had a good chuckle after watching that.

Bug is the only *very effective* option to Psychic in gen 1 Beedrill can do the trick but the poison type forces it to be faster than the target in order to live.

Still have the original rbyg. Still playing till this day. Maybe I should start doing this; because I am seeing so many mistakes. I like having a full verity of pokemon on Mt team. I wouldn't be going to Misty without an ele type. Magnamite would have been on my team. I totally would have gotten that Digglet, or seeing that Nidoran male with Dig (easier to escape dungeons that way w/o using a bunch of escape ropes. Spearow would have been my flyer, because it hits harder. Yeah just a lot going on here.

Swift is stab and physical in this game. Same as wing attack unless the rom increased wing attacks damage, but swift never misses. And since rby are a broken mess every move has gen 1 miss expect for swift
