i got the fuecoco box recently cause he was my starter and i wanted the pin and i found it at target and while i was already planning on getting the other two for the pins (and to actually get koraidon since i played scarlet lmao) its nice to know that the promo cards are different as well lmao

What’s crazy for me personally as a collector is that one day at target picked up a random one of these fuecoco boxes and My Mom and I got some Starbucks in the little section of target and I decided to open it, Got my first ever Alt Art from a Silver Tempest Pack on a whim and if I’m not mistaken every pack had a hit. Idk if I just got really lucky with that or what.

Yes. Miraidon and Koraidon are legendaries, but as someone who has 180+ hours in game, they really have no reason to be legendary other than the fact that they are on the boxart (being a important character on the story isnt a requirement so i wont count)

I think it's super neat that they made the "box legendaries" only really legendary by comparison, like, I'd consider all the Paradoxes pseudo legends and the fact that they only pulled two Koraidon/Miraidon makes them legendary by proxy? but like, there's really no other lore reason for them to be legendary and that's Super neat to me actually

I think they were most used and popularized in the bw era but they were a thing in the gen 3 card series

The capital EX cards were from black and white, lowercase ex cards were from ruby and Sapphire along with delta species which were the original tera pokemon

4:18 Japanese Pokémon cards have had silver borders since the ADV era (EX era starting from EX Ruby and Sapphire to EX Hidden Legends) while international releases at that time still have yellow borders and the E-reader strip which was dropped shortly in EX Hidden Legends.

You could almost think of the ex as a mix from the old ex and the EX from xy. Maybe its to try and mix nostalgia for both. Like I grew uo with xy EX. IDK. that's what I think at least

I was excited when they said EX's were coming back and then disappointed when it wasn't like the XY era EX Cards or the old ex card's but I will admit some of them are cool like the full are Arcanine from the base set of the new gen

Style wise it is a mix, but the new ex mechanic works exactly the same as the og ex. EX cards were all basic, ex can be basic, 2nd stage, and 3rd stage.

I'm right there with ya, I'm not a fan of full "holo" cards like EX/GX/V cards, they really do feel cheap. At least with VMAX and VSTAR cards they have some texture to them, so they feel a bit more.. quality? For the past few years I've been more excited about pulling holos more than GX/V cards because I have 0 interest in them, especially since most of the art on them is the same bland reused 3D models so they just look uninteresting

I'm not that impressed with the cards either. Silver borders are fine! Its the holo foil that looks cheap af and keeps getting worse as the years go on. If its a money issue, get rid of reverse holos and guaranty a holo in every pack instead.
