@@NatashaCarter-si5oz it's not that enormous. Just 9 levels higher, plus the Weezing has all the badge boosts with it as well. I've hit Lances Gyarados with Thunder from my Lapras that was 16 levels lower before, and it was a one shot.

I'm not gonna lie man... you made some pretty wack decisions in this battle. Setting up two swords dances against gyrados only to use quick attack, not immediately hitting alakazam with an earthquake... and going into the E4 with a pidgey... I mean it all worked out, but it seems like you made things harder for yourself!!

I didn't think about using it twice so when I used it the second time I Only could use quick attack or I would've been koed as I was getting outspeed ;p

Arcanine, Exeggutor and Gyarados were among the strongest for their types in Gen 1. To say nothing of that Alakazam. So yes, Blue does have a pretty solid line up.

Been replaying this game for the 4th time in the past year or so and just beat red again last week. My team this most recent run is Typhlosion, Dragonite, umbreon, crobat, Lapras, and poliwrath. Such a god like team kinda bummed cause it actually makes the game too easy Lmfao. Literally beat this dude all on one hit KOs.
