Watching this inspired me to start my own nuzlocke and it’s nerve wracking!!!! But i love it and it’s a lot of fun. Also a fun little something me and my friends do is when we get a rival battle, after we beat them we call up someone in the gang and we have our own personal rival battles. It’s just a little something to build some competition. Maybe that could be something you could try out if you do another nuzlocke. Anyway, i love your play through and I’m cheering for ya bud! ^^

I completely agree about the Diamond/Pearl starters being the best. Whenever I play its so hard for me to choose because I love them all!

I actually love these starters too, even their evolutions, they look so cool. I’m a Gen One person too, but I get more excited to see these starters in Pokemon GO recently than the Kanto starters. :P

there's the Universal Pokemon Game Randomizer that'll allow you to evolve your Kadabra via levelling. I'm using it for my nuzlocke.

Possibly my favorite starter evolution design ever is the freaking earth turtle in gen 4 (Torterra). What a badass, even if it is 4x weak to ice...

I found another source for an early game Pokemon for you. If you go west from Jubilife City, there's a man that gives you an old rod that you can fish with. If you go south to Sandgem Town, you can fish on the southern shore of the town to get a Magikarp. You haven't caught a Pokemon in that area yet, so you can get a Magikarp from here.

And as for what things count as not cool to look up....well, you're a busy person. Don't make your life any harder for a video game than you have to.

Griffin looking up gym levels was pretty valid, its easy to get over leveled in the new games. With the older games, usually you need a lot more training. I think looking up moves, tms, and gym levels are fine. Looking up encounters and stuff, nah

Thats a good point, gen 6 which is what he was playing is arguably the EASIEST mainline Pokemon game... it was so annoying tbh.

Hey, hope you are doing well and that your business is thriving. I missed the Nuzlocke last week, hope to see them continue. do you ever use the randomizer for your emulator? I think thats more fun for replaying the game because then pokemon can evolve at 37 instead of trading. You do excellent editing and its entertaining to watch someone play who loves the series. Look up anything you want to look up, it gives viewers insight into your thought process for battling and prepping... which I think is entertaining.

I’ve recently played up to before the elite four. Don’t try to get to stressed about some levels because you can make it through even if you are a bit under leveled. Good luck in the speed run.

I actually keep my starter at least 2-4 levels above all the other pokemon on my team, so you're not the only one lol

I would say as far as looking things up, if the info would change what you would do I wouldn't look it up. But again, it is your series, and I'm going to watch it either way.

I definitely think this gen’s starters are some of the best. I love monkey Pokémon so Chimchar was right up my alley. Is there a specific way you name your Pokémon? I always make music references for each of my Pokémon. I think my Chimchar was named Zeppelin, I had named Piplup Deep Purple and Turtwig Sabbath. The starters always have to have some kind of theme for me, this gen was classic metal bands.

@@CriticalGeminiHero Well, it is a pokemon comment on a pokemon video! It's not entirely unprecedented. But yeah, I heard about that game and how it actually has a legit nuzlocke mode. So I assume there's less wiggle room for rules interpretation. Also, I wonder how often the game is cited for rulings (if at all).

I hated these starters, tbh. The only one who's typing worked was Empoleon. That water/steel was great for tanking, and its design worked better than the other starters. Torterra felt like a Venusaur retread, with a typing that didnt help its strengths, but held it back. And Infernape was a monkey with that overly designed Gen 4 flare. Gen three was fantastic, but gen 4 didnt have good starters.
