One of the reasons I think Battle Frontier (and the battle tower in Ruby/Sapphire and FireRed/LeafGreen too!) is so overrated. Like you go through all this trouble in factory, dome etc. and for what? A berry you’re never gonna use? It’s horrid honestly. I think what would have made it MORE worthwhile is if they could have brought the Power items (Brace, Lens, Weight etc.) over in Emerald first so it’d be a FUCK ton more fun raising Pokémon in 3rd Gen like in 4th and beyond. I see Exarion and Werster kicking so much ass in the Frontier, while the second I play, I always hit myself in confusion and paralysis always beats me. It’s not as worth it, but even winning at least 1 one of the facilities is enough for me. As for the vitamins for Pokémon, just keep beating the Elite 4 and keep getting lots of money with Amulet Coin attached. (Sorry for the rant!). That way you can get an assload of experience, money and potential strong EV & IV trained Pokémon without the need of the battle frontier.

14:37:29 i can explain why swapping doesn’t work in the factory. i figured this out by using cheats to steal the factory pokes. the IV’s of the pokes increase each round you go through the factory, once they reach 31 for ur starters, all the swapped pokémon only have like 15 IV’s. they’re just shittier pokes cuz i stole both but realized the swapped ones always had shit IV’s

@@Propane_Acccessories you mean in the battle factory? Because there to get a good iv Pokemon you have to trade after every battle. I tried it out and it worked to my advantage. Well, and the Factory owner used a Flareon which is a free kill for a Swampert. Good iv Pokemon otherwise I am not sure about. The only good iv Pokemon I have is an Adamant with 31 ivs in Atk and Speed. And I only using it against the Battle Tower. I don't think any other Pokemon had decent ivs to be honest since neither do your opponents. The hex is usually what makes the difference. There will always a matchup you can't win. Just recently I lost my Gengar to the final evo of Liliep because of a crit, and because of that a Frail Pinsir that conviniently survived a Double Edge from my Tauros swept my team.

I think that the new Emerald any% route where you skip the 2nd half of the gyms by Glitzer Popping could be used to speed up an All Gold Symbols speedrun. After you beat the Elite Four the post-game triggers happen like normal, right? If running that as unrestricted any% you could then do Slepnir17's ACE to get all Gold Symbols without doing a single Battle Frostier battle. You still need to unlock the Battle Frontier as ACE setup requires the Battle Tower cloning glitch.

Is the information below something runners already know? Either way, nicely done! Battle Pyramid doesn't look to be entirely random in trainers, items, warps' locations, nor are the maps: there's a total of sixteen possible "tiles" (er, whole map segments) with a set of item and trainer locations for the RNG to select, arranged in a 4+ x 4+ grid, each "tile" being 8 actual tiles long.

I have a question: are the IVs in the Battle Factory linked to your most recent Tower streak, or your best Tower streak? In other words, could I make the Lv. 50 Single Factory easier for myself by going into the Lv. 50 Single Tower and deliberately losing the first battle? Also, do the IVs work the same way for Platinum/Gen. 4's Factory, or has anything changed there - and could you elaborate on that? I'm not a speed-runner, just someone who wants to get the Factory gold symbol at all. Thanks in advance for any help. Catch rate manipulation. Pokemon Emerald has an RNG counter that is predictable, so as long as you wait for the perfect moment you'll always get what you're looking for, even if what you're looking for is catching Rayquaza at full health in a pokeball. The real difficulty comes in acting on that perfect moment.

At that point it'll begin generating numbers again and they'll always be the same numbers generated per frame. Yes, but the standard set of manips don't work. 3DS VC runners have usually searched for their own manips or switched to playing on emulator.

I've recently started planning the old red virtual pokemon game in the 3ds, what memories. I've seen all the sdq speedruns and races from the last few years, and i'd thought i'd give it a go. Sub 2'15 hours isn't bad for a beginner i supose maybe with a few manips i could get under 2 hours, and a few thousand more run throughs. Lol

RNG manipulation. There are four consecutive frames on which Rayquaza gets in a Poke Ball, and I know which frame I'm on because the RNG starts at 0 upon soft resetting.

The RNG seed for Emerald is ALWAYS 0 from when the game is launched because the seeding function is never called. Keep track of what advances it when (such as opening the bag) and you can get it every time if you find a few frames next to each other that work He also tried to manipulate rayquaza's stats by talking to it on the right frame, but you can't really ever find a cluster for that, so he missed it and just used the first one he got. The pokeball catch with it is a 4 frame window if he used the same manips as Werster

there is a chance that exarion only ev-trained the pokemon to 508 EVs as that's all you need for maximum gain. however, the cap is 510 so at that point you are technically not done with EV training and as such don't receive the band.
