I think the idea of Rare Candies not working on your highest level mon is a very good counterbalance (in casual play) to allowing infinite candies. It let's you switch up your team without grinding new mons out, but you can't just rush to the end of an area and mass level your mons. Well, in theory. Sadly, in practice here the fact that enemies only match your highest level anyway means you can still do just that. This type of system in a game where the level did not scale with you would shine much more.

That's what happens with perfect IVs, terrifying Furfrous with hearts on their tails. Natu would have been a good bet though, depending on TMs.

Also my experience till now, furfrou sucks, wattson is terrifying and the starters change, so its any of the fire water or grass starter rather than being set at rowlet tepig and piplup...

i need help with actually installing the app, whenever i want to open the ups file it makes me open it in the word apps or the windows media player and google dosen't give any anwsers on anything about this and just gives me random videos about startup apps instead

you need to patch the file with a rom, there's an online patcher called marc robledo and the rom is easy to obtain

as i have been starting to say after the big A said it. grinding is cringe, cheating is based. this is why for a good pokemon game there has to be a super easy way to lvl up. it gives way more insentive to change up your team without spending an eternity lvling them up. it just makes the game better, there is not a single pokemon game that gets worse by having an easy way to lvl up your pokemons

I enjoy thé grind to an extent. Being able to rate candy it takes some of the journey out for me. But then again I see your point, I usually plan out my team and focus only on them. I tend not to switch teammates through a play through. I think that’s where the XY exp share comes in clutch, just chuck the weaker mons in the back.

@@dr.trousers6101 i can 100% understand why some people find it fun or even theraputic to grind levels in pokemon but it just doesent for me. weirdly enough i got NO issues doing it in ff9 and 10. i grinded my ass out in those games and enjoyed it. so idk why i am against it in pokemon

Eh, it's an RPG, grinding is a staple of RPGs. If there's a leveling system, you'll probably need to grind, depending on the RPG. If it's a Western RPG like TES or Fallout, then it usually happens just by doing stuff, but that's also just one entity to level up. Just hack the game and make it easier to level up. 😂

i would like a "difficulty" of battles that is changed through the game. like, each gym battle would take away a part of the battle system, like, limit your usable pokemon or limit you to 1 and later no switches. until by the champion battle you would only have 4 pokemon allowedd and their levels would automatically be capped at 2 levels below the champions highest level. while on the otherhand, your unofficial battles out on the field are only limited by your own honor, like, you can even send out all 6 of your pokemon at the same time if you want. and the evil team would always do some kind of "cheating" except for the executives, from gauntlet style battles that are already in the main game to, like, a grunt stealing some of your current pokemon randomly just before a fight so you can't use them. it would go a long way towards immersion for me. its why i dont like nuzzlocks, you "kill" your rivals pokemon then the next battle they are miraculously resurrected. but if you "pretend" to be a bad trainer like paul in the anime then nuzzlock rules would work for me.

I will say I am sick of ROM hacks that give battles before beating 1st gym good base stats unevolved with good moves when there's level caps it just makes it really unfun.

Seems to be a bit of stick being given for the choice to go sandbox. I've not played this hack but in hacks i tend to never use rare candies or anything as im one to whack speed up on and battle all trainers I see. Is that not something you can keep up with in this game, to me the idea of getting them all to level 15 via battling and not rare candies doesn't seem bad?

I'm all for grinding, I've done it plenty on my series. But the grinding method in this game is bad. I didn't do sandbox because it advised me not to. Game is unplayable w/o it though.

it should really be a legal requirement for every rom hack to have one of the following: - give you infinite rare candies - do what emerald rogue does and make your levels instant but with a fixed level cap - provide blissey trainers/an npc that will level your pokemon to a certain cap Experience point leveling as a concept is such an archaic and tedious system that only brings down the experience imo
