Well Jesse didn’t want Mimikyu to be subjected to the harsh lifestyle that is Team Rocket, so it was a good call on her part to let it go. At least they went on to live a happy life afterwards because Mimikyu doesn’t deserve to be sad and lonely.

the first time ever i was so proud of team rocket, especially meowth and Jessie who went way beyond their limits to make mimikyu feel loved and befriend it. I loved how Jessie tried so bad to help mimikyu and always took care of it. At the end only because of how meowth explained it, mimikyu was able to forget the rivalry and accepted itself, leading a life with her pokemon friends.

There were times before that Team Rocket are very nice people, you know Jessie is a trained Pokemon nurse her dream was to care for Pokemons and has helped her Chansey friends to get better at nursing. James and Jessy also spoil their Pokemon and treat them as equals (Meowth) to the point they don’t even listen to them and do whatever they want as they’re technically free their pokemons love them. To the point where Jessie purposely damaged the pokeball to permanently release Dustox because it refused to leave her. But Jessie want it to go on and live a happy life. Which is i think only time a trainer ever does that. The team rocket are just misunderstood

If I recall correctly In the dub Meowth gives Mimikyu a pep talk about not being hung up on its looks, but in the original japanese Meowth says "Nothing good comes from hatred, now might be the time to start looking forward" advising Mimikyu to let go of its hatred for Pikachu so that it can develop and be the best Pokémon it can be.

3:48 Honestly I kinda wished that stitching on the disguise became a permanent part of Jessie's Mimikyu's design, not only to reinforce the importance of that moment & the episode in general, but also to give Jessie's Mimikyu more of a distinct apperance than just a regular Mimikyu. Idk it's just something I've wanted the series to do for a while I suppose, it's also why I always nickname my Pokémon in my playthroughs

Yeah I can easily guess why, just wish more of the important Pokémon characters got more unique designs so they could further stand out as their own characters, I also think it's due to the marketability & wanting the Pokémon to stay easily recognisable (I think I'm also spoiled by all the cool designs the fanbase has made of their own Pokémon, making them distinct but still recognisable, my favourite examples being the comic "Nuzlocke: Rea" or "Nuzrea" for short, nailing that middle ground when designing my own Pokémon is big goals) But I am just an Artist so I guess things like this just stick more out to me 😅 (At least Squirtle & Krookodile got to keep their sunglasses)

A cool idea would be to buy a mimikyu plush and add a few stitches yourself to kind of make it your own and if you decide later that you don't like it you can just cut them out and it'll be good as new again. You could either copy Jesse's stitch or make your own. I think that would be super cool to customize your own.❤❤❤

I think Mimikyu might be the first of Jessie's pokemon to have a character arc. Or at least, one of the few to have one. I also like how the writers were able to make Mimikyu sympathetic despite wanting to kill Pikachu.

I'm so happy that Mimikyu got together with Team Rocket, although I was hoping that it'd be caught by James instead. But Jessie's harsh personality is kinda similar to Mimikyu. What makes me sad is that for a famous Pokemon, it couldn't stay longer in the series. I literally started watching Pokemon again because of Mimikyu.

if youve seen jessies backstory, (theres a video on youtube about it) then you can see that they are the perfect fit for each other. spoiler alert || jessie suffered from poverty etc and she was a very joyful kid and she always tried out for lots of stuff. she never succeeded, but she still kept on trying, and i think that she is the perfect match for mimikyu,

Mimikyu is such a perfect Pokémon for Team Rocket. It’s so fitting for them to find a Pokémon that essentially represents the pikachu that they’ll never have. On paper it technically works just as well if not better than wobbufett. Jessie especially has a history of failures in love, it makes sense that they’d get along.

Jessie’s mimikye was no joke as a battler especially it the fact it held a typical grudge agents pikachu especially the one on ash’s side! And it basically the dark version of pikachu as a ghost Pokémon of some sort! Also it would have made a great ace for Jessie on her ultimate team if she were to actually compete in any league or contest of some kind, you get the idea? 😁 those are my thought on Jessie’s mimikyu professor just letting you know that. 😁👍

My theory (Mimikyu my favourite pokemon) - Mimikyu is a pokemon of its own, not any dead pokemon its just that it is afraid that people would never accept him the way he was, he knew that everyone loved pikachu, he was really jealous of that and so he got himself in a pikachu rag and never got it off. Pokedex says: Its actual appearance is unknown. A scholar who saw what was under its rag was overwhelmed by terror and died from the shock. I think this happened because he never came out of the rag cloth and never tried to accept himself, which turned him into a jealous, psychopathic monster. But the reason why he had to do all that was because he was really lonely and people were always terrified of even going near him which caused him to become something like so. I, on the otherhand love mimikyu as i think it is the most adorable and lonely pokemon which needs to be accepted, not as a monster but as any other loved pokemon.

I loved How it was an evil version of Pikachu. It looked like him, wood hammer and shadow ball was an equivilant of iron tail and electro ball. I like that it was caught in a luxury ball too because its boring too see everyone always using the regular pokeball. It also had its own z move!

Mimikyu's design/concept is simply genius. I love everything about it. And I was never a fan of the anime (except maybe season 1) and I haven't seen a single episode of Sun&Moon, but this character arc ... Wow. Exciting and touching at the same time. Mimikyu should have won their last battle too, though.

Fascinating! That's a costume? I haven't seen that series. I assumed Mimikyu was able to shapeshift into any Pokémon it faced in battle. Do other Mimikyus dress up as different Pokémon? It's surprising how much time they spent fleshing out it's story. Mimikyu got a better character arc than Rey from StarWars! 😆

I am extremely late to this video, but, at the end in the time stamp called "Mimikyu's popularity" I think you make an extremely good point about it being the 3rd most popular pokemon. It also being part of team rocket- and team rocket literally NEVER gives up I will not be surprised if they go back to Alola, Snatch up Mareanie AND Mimikyu, go for a battle against Ash. Of course it being plot armour and an extreme case of it non the less, they loose despite Mareanie and Mimikyu are both probably stronger then Ash's Pikachu, and its 2minors vs 1major. They still loose. For goodness gracious just have them kidnap Pikachu and have Ash come and rescue it-
