An old Japanese-only book made from the perspective of one of the researchers also mentions this. It mentions how one of their Pokémon after becoming tired walked over to a box (wanting to say it was a box at least, could be misremembering) got inside, when they went over to look they were shocked to see it had shrunken down in size. This then led them to begin looking into a way to take advantage of this ability of Pokémon in order to more easily carry them around, implying that this researcher would eventually create the first Pokéball, or at the very least help pave the way to its creation.

There’s an issue with this assertion, though. How would the Pokémon go into the PC that easily? The Data Storage Theory makes more sense since it cuts out the middleman, and at least for modern Pokéballs.

The issue wasn't that they couldn't fit in your pocket, it was that almost nobody owned Pokemon at the time, so them being referred to as "pocket monsters" when a majority of people wouldn't even get near one, let alone hold one in their pocket, was a bit odd.

For the first meme, not only is Blaziken so old that the controversy of starters becoming bipedal as they evolve wasn't a big deal (mainly because the only time it had happened at that time was Mudkip) but also because Torchic's evolutionary line was never quadrupedal, so it's not even an example of a quadrupedal pokemon becoming bipedal

Resetting your game until it deigns to give you a female Fennekin is rather time consuming. Incineroar is the worst offender of that crime. Gamefreak missed an obvious opportunity to make a black and red cat turn into a tiger, especially since we still haven't got one.

See, the reason for the first one is that Blaziken was never quadrupedal. Pokémon fans don't have a problem with starter lines that stand on two legs at every stage, but when it starts as a quadruped and ends standing on two legs, that's when people get mad for some reason.

"I send out Dusknoir, use focus punch" joking aside Pokemon Masters (yes I still play, no I don't give them money I'm F2P, story and characters... uggh can be interesting sometimes) has a unique function of type changing, and for your character you can hatch a magicarp, evolve it... and you got a Gyarados with a water type hyper beam. Not completely new because some abilities like Pixelate on Mega Gardevoir can do this too, becomes fairy type, but there's only a handful of those abilities in the game... and like 1/2 of them were on megas that don't exist anymore (Gardevoir, Pinsir, Salamance RIPeroni), even gave me ideas for my own fan games I'm making.

Fun Fact: Explosion used to be used one EVERYTHING THAT COULD... Only thing keeping Snorlax from using it was that it could only learn Selfdestruct. In the olden days of RBY, GSC, RSE and DPP... Explosion and Selfdestruct had a secondary effect of halving the defense of the target during damage calculation. This meant that pokemon with low attack stats could use the move as a final hurrah or as an assassination attack to take care of a threat that stopped the rest of your team. Pokemon like Exeggutor, Golem, Snorlax, Gengar, Metagross, Fortress, Claydol and Azelf all used it very well and could take out or cripple anything that came in to take them on. For example, sending a Blissey to counter Gengar would always risk the opponent predicting and hitting BOOM... And then in gen 5 they nerfed the attack by getting rid of the defense halving effect and making it so the user of Explosion actually lost if it was the attack used in the final 1v1, thus making the move altogether worse... still a fun Normal Gem Explosion set was used on a select few pokemon to utterly nuke an opponent.

Noble, you should watch False Swipe Gaming episodes. Explosion was frequently used throughout Gen 1 to 4 to the point that it got hit by a massive nerf in Gen 5. It doesn`t ignore defense anymore, so it can barely be used at this point....

Hey Noble, here's a site you can check out for some info on dnd and optimization. And some ways to deal with midmaxing, such as rustage. He plays a flying bard with several shutdown spells. he be the scariest member of that team imo. Tabletop builds it's called. Could make some seriously scary enemy NPC for them to face also. And you could pull out a optimized character if you ever start another game with rustage. I'm sure he'd be proud, or drop a something homebrewed from 3.5E. Or more scary, 4E.
