I’m enjoying the nostalgia as we speak playing leaf green from start with a shiny starter
8 ай бұрын
I remember getting Fire Red as a Christmas gift back in 2004. It was my first very own Pokemon game. My older brother got Leaf Green, and we played individually, as we only had one GBA. Back in 2001-2002, Esteban (my brother) had Pokemon Crystal and allowed me and my sister to "have" some of his Pokemon (despite not actually playing and only allowing us to see), so having my very own game felt amazing. I named my rival Esteban so I could surpass and beat him at something, because he alwas beat me at everything like Yugioh and I always saw him as an amazing and very cool person (despite being a bit of a jerk). I remember he and one of his friends completing the Pokedex, how I found Entei and not knowing how rare it was (I was just looking for an Ekans), and I even remember him having a Shiny Tentacruel (although I don't remember its original game). I lost that cartridge around 2008 or 2009, and I still remember my Blastoise, Haunter (I didn't have the Link Cable to evolve it), Electabuzz, Snorlax, Nidoking and Pidgeot, as well as things like catching the legendary birds and Mewtwo with Poke Balls because I wanted everyone to share the same Ball. Then, in 2014, I bought another Fire Red from a school classmate, and I've played it multiple times to complete my National Dex. Now it's resting alongside my brother's Emerald and all my other games.

Not the perspective I was expecting but the perspective we deserved! This was really enjoyable to watch and I'm curious about if you have any other stories like this about other Pokemon games

Oh man, these two have eluded me for some time. I adore the original Pokemon Blue/Red so much but I need to try these. Ugh, this video made me want them even more.

The first gen is super nostalgic for me. I’m of the same mindset on the original versions - something about the art style on the Game Boy is more authentic, less watercolor-esque. I’d happily play either version again today.

Both are highly addicting and I'm not sure why I perfer the visuals and music in the original versions but they are better.

sounds like the relationship similar to me and my cousin. Only that I didn't make a bet to get his game and rip him off his best Pokemon. We played the most often Pokemon Gold and Silver and used the Mystery Gift function to grind on each others team in Varidian City where you can play once per day against Cal or whoever but he would use the Pokemon of the person you did Mystery Gift with. We did sometimes Gym Challenges and such. Or came up with Legacy Trainer teams. Johto Legends vs Kanto Legends. It was fun. And it pissed me off you couldn't do it in HGSS. Instead of Money and EXP, you just get 1 Battle Point. You need 16 BP to buy something worthwhile.

Malta!! Great video! All that work you put in shows. I love your narration and editing. I have no experience with Pokemon so this was very informative for me. Your storys growing up really make the video extra special. You and Alex had quite the competition. That must have been tough to have him take over your game save and not let you play it. I loved how when you got a DS and Leaf Green you named your rival Alex. The stakes for that last battle were very high. Glad you won. Do you still keep in touch with Alex?
@maltamaster2 жыл бұрын
Thanks brian and I lost touch with Alex and his brother as neither of them currently use social media so I have no way to contact them.

I love how you called the original Pokemon games the "new" pokemon game lol. Did you not have Gold at the time? I would have played that instead because it's a better game. Fire Red and Leaf Green felt like a downgrade from Gold & Silver for me. Gold & Silver spoiled me. Also playing the same game I played years ago was a new concept to me and I kinda got bored of it. The originals are better.
@maltamaster2 жыл бұрын
Yes the originals are better but Im glad that Fire Red and Leaf Green came out and I got them
