A Pokemon Great Encounters booster box is opened in this video. This booster box opening is part of my 18 Pokemon booster box opening series I'm doing for the summer of 2016. This box was $224.95 from Blowout Cards. This is part 1.

PrimetimePokemon, these Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, Platinum openings really bring back great memories. The reason for this is because these were the first kinds of Pokemon cards and games I first got into. I can very much imagine how much nostalgia this must give you since this series was the first series you started opening on your KZbin channel when It began. I love going back and watching those old videos! :p

Definitely some great memories for me too, mainly because like you said, Diamond and Pearl series sets were the first openings I did on KZbin back in 2008.

This opening really took me back to the days when I first starting watching your videos! Think it was the video where you opened 5 Diamond & Pearl booster boxes (a KZbin record at the time). I still go back and re-live those videos. Back when these boxes were new Level X cards were a big deal; they looked fantastic and were super hard to pull. Yes, hitting one of these back then was something special. These days we all pull more EXs than holos! :) HZ

I’ve honestly nevertheless given 4th gen a chance, I’m typically into anything gen 1 to 3. But this set is actually pretty awesome! They were very inclusive of the first 3 gens. This just opened a whole generation up to me, thanks PTP!

Talking of starter Pokemon, you mentioned you like water-type with the exception of choosing Charmander, what do you think of the Gen 7 starter Pokemon? I usually like water type best as well but I really like the look of the grass starter Rowlet for Sun and Moon.

Do you think POKEMON CO. leaves a few packs with ultrares in boosters box in order to control the amount of those in the market. because if there is a little chance of getting an ultra-rare isnt possible to get a booster box full of ultra-rares. For the most part, ultra rare cards have set pull rates.

i kind of agree with the initial comment. my favourite pokemon youtuber is unlisted leaf. he has so much energy and over the top enthusiasm.i do like ptp though and i suppose his personality is a little more low key and less excitable. but he is how he is, i still enjoy his content.

If you look back at his older videos you'll find he was a lot less up beat. I think he's perfectly fine now, if you want over the top reactions people do to gain subscribers there are plenty of those channels. Primetime is the one of the oldest, most consistent Pokemon TCG KZbinrs out there today, and the fact that he still uploads daily is a testament to his dedication and enthusiasm towards the TCG.
