So glad you're calling this out. Insane to see the market manipulation in this hobby after coming back after a break from the competitive scene prior to team up. Figured I'd buy some of the cards I missed but these prices are insane to spike like they have in 6 months for little reason other than hype.

when this card released i was paying $20 a card i have two in my collection best time to get cards is on release or a couple months after release when they come down in price. People doing buyouts to inflate card prices is becoming common practice . People fail to realize this is accruing more often in the hobby and there are buyout groups doing this all the time.

lol the graph for the greninja and zoroark is broken. just go to the recent sales. it‘s been selling for 80-100+ since before february but for some reason market never updated until like 2 weeks ago. go look for yourself. HOWEVER, you are correct and there is absolutely without a doubt market manipulation going on and it’s disgusting. i can’t believe the hobby still eats this bullshit up man

Its so easy to manipulate these card prices it doesn't take much money to do it and people are not seeing it since most of them are kids or fans and they believe everything the poketubers say thinking they can make some money.

Latios and Latias psa10 are at $3000 and above on eBay now. Definitely FOMO on these cards. I don’t understand how you can tell the difference between manipulation and normal supply and demand. More people are getting into collecting and supply is limited on these old sets. If these KZbin people are pointing it out and adding to the FOMO then I don’t blame them.

Im not saying its not minupulated but pop report speaks volumes. There are 521 registered latias Alts under PSA. Team Up has a total PSA POP of 23,472, the second least graded set in 2019 (unified minds wins that one with 23,448). Because of the shit all demand in the release year, team up had barely any printing and so there is a demand. in my eyes its the same as buying B&W full arts because they were the first of their kind. At the end of the day a small group of people get to set the prices for these cards, if you dont want em just dont buy em. Plenty of other SM/XY/BW cards out there that look just as good

Art is subjective and we all have different tastes, I personally like the Gengar & Mimikyu GX more.
