Flying Press is Hawlucha's signature move, starting in generation 6 of Pokemon [X and Y]. It has the unique property of dealing flying and fighting type damage at the same time. But today we're gonna look at some more moves that could theoretically deal two types of damage. How would each one fare in battle? What's the deal with the ghost type? How did voter fraud sneak its way into competitive Pokemon? All that and more today on MEPlaysGames.

This gave me the great idea that Tri-Attack should really be a three-hit move, with 30 base power and rotating between all three types. Keep it using normal type for STAB since the iconic mons for it are Porygon and, like, Dodrio.

Frankly, brown Sneasel was an error caused by a leftover from its beta design from what I've heard. Spinarak however seems more like them giving it a "nighttime" color palette since it's a nocturnal Pokemon.

Then KZbin labeled said videos as for kids. Now they’re gone forever. On a side note, I wonder if there is some sort of phrase that can be used to guarantee a video doesn’t get marked for kids, while still maintaining General Audiences friendliness. If there is, maybe they can use that to make stock audio that plays in every video.

They have a yes or no question that they want you to answer that they would take that into consideration. I definitely think that is something KZbin needs to address

I think the 16x damage issue could be fixed by making those moves deal 4x damage at most. Some would already be great moves. They dont need to insta delete Pokemon when just selecting the move

Thunderous Kick lowers the target's defense stat (which is a stat drop, NOT a status condition), and Fiery Wrath causes flinch (which is a non-volotile status condition, and barely even counts because it only stops the one attack).

I feel like making Steel Wing dual Steel/Flying WOULDN'T be good, because the main reason any Flying types would _want_ to use Steel Wing is so they can deal with the Rock types they're weak to. Having it only deal neutral damage would suck.

multiple type moves can rarely be good. even types that mostly dont overlap like dark/electric would mean this dark type move cant hit ground types. it works better with freeze dry, where you can deal super effective damage on a type that normally could resist it. the combination canceling out super effective damage like flying press on rock is bad too.

The Rom Hack, Crystal Legacy, ended up buffing Spinarak and Ariados to where they were actually really good. F*ck. Like, they buffed its speed by a considerable amount and actually gave it access to good STAB moves. F*ck. I ended up having one I got be a mainstay on a Nuzlocke I was running of it until I ended up needing to make a clean switch when my Ariados. F-

In Gen 7, Spinarak was given its own signature move, Toxic Thread. A non damaging move that inflicts poison and lowers the opponent's speed.

Unfortunately, it learns it in early-to-mid 50s (Spinarak)/early 60s (Ariados), which is way too late for an early game Bug to learn what's basically Poison Powder + String Shot _(with way better accuracy, but still)._

Some interesting move buffs I thought of while watching this video. For Smog, it would be really cool if it had the same accuracy and power, but maybe 30% chance to poison, 10% chance to lower accuracy, but ALSO had a status on the opponent kinda similar to Vivillon’s Powder. Where if the opponent uses a fire type move they combust and lose 25% health (maybe also change that to where if a fire type move is used on a smogged/powdered target they also take this damage). For Tri Attack what if instead of it being coded as all 3 types in 1 attack it was coded as a multi hit move that hit 3 times? Each hit having the chance to status. That way even if a pokemon is immune to one of the types they’ll still get hit twice by the other ones. Plus multi hit moves are fun for breaking subs, sashes, and sturdy so we could definitely use more of them, especially special attacking ones.

If I remember correctly, Flying Press does X2 damage to rock, meaning it's ignoring flying's type effectiveness in that case. I think that if Muddy Water is counted as water/ground, any stacking/conflicting type match ups are ignored for the most effective type. Meaning it would only deal water damage to flying types.

Flying Press is neutral against rock, it does take both types into consideration in that case and cancels them out

Spinarak was my first shiny in pokerogue. Still haven’t beaten the game with it on the team. I tried so hard to make it work too. Perfect IVs, 4 egg moves, fed it all the vitamins it could take.

Honestly yeah, Muddy Water should have been a ground type move. All the other moves with "mud" in the name are ground type, and there's a notable lack of special attacking ground type moves. As is Muddy Water just feels too similar to Surf.

Im not sure flying types would be immune to muddly water in this hypothetical. We would never know the true answer since flying press is fighting at base and nothing is immune to flying so we don't know how the secondary typing interacts with immunities, but it would be equally reasonable to assume muddy water as a water type move at base it would hit flying types bypassing immunity then adding the ground type for calculations. It would probably make muddy water more akin to thousand arrows in that regard hitting for neutral on flying types and flying electric types as what flying press does show is bug's resistance to fighting and weakness to flying is neutral.

So, im a big fan of the move Tri Attack! I find it a good option for Porygon2 and Porygon-Z, and its just Fun to use. (Togekiss and Alakazam are fun users too) Ever since it's Debut, it's been a Normal Type Move with 80 Base Power... but here is my Idea for a change: Tri Attack Type: ??? Base Power: 40 x3 Effect: This Moves deals Electric, Ice, and Fire Damage. Each Type is 40 Base Power. (Up to 120 Base Power total) Each Type takes separate Type Effectiveness when it's used against another Pokémon. There is a 30% chance to Burn (10%), Paralize (10%), or Freeze (10%). So, to explain easily: This move will do Base Power of 40, 80, or 120 based on the Opponent's typing. Some examples- Gliscor: Electric 0 Power. Fire 40 Power. Ice 160 Power. So the move would do 200 Base Damage and could only possibly Burn or Freeze. Flash Fire Heatran: Electric 40 Power. Fire 0 Power + Gives Flash Fire Boost. Ice 10 Base Power. So, 50 Base Power total. Skarmory: Ice 40 Power. Electric 80 Power. Fire 80 Power. So, 200 Base Power, and can get any of the 3 status conditions. Hisuian Zoroark: Electric 40 Power. Ice 40 Power. Fire 40 Power. So, the standard 120 Base Power. A move that shoots out 3 different Elemental beams, being Normal, honestly doesn't makes sense. Why can't Gengar be hit by a simultaneous Fire Ice and Electric shot? As much as I love Tri Attack, it should be reworked!

Didn't you know?? Flying press doesn't deal flying AND fighting damage. It deals flying OR fighting damage depending on effectiveness. If used against galarian golem it deals super effective damage despite flying being quad resisted and it would be a resisted move if both types were accounted for.

They should just change the mecanics. Just calculate the damage as hit as one type plus the hit of other type, each half BP. As a twerk, add dual stab. Lets say a dual type 100bp move. If the pokemon has one type in common, it acts like 150, and if the dual type matches both types of pokemon, 200. Now, effectivenes: it causes the damage as 50% of one type and 50% the other. So, quad week pokemon would be like regular super effective: 100%+100%=200%. If one is neutral, and other super effective, 150%. If both neutral, 100%. If one is resisted, and the other is super effective, 25%+100% (more damage than neutral), and both resists = 25%+25%=50%, equal a songle type resist. Finally, immunity only if imune to both types (only ghost to normal/fighting), if imune to only one of the types, take samage from the other (either 25%, 50% or 100% if resist, neutral or super effective, respectively). Perfectly balanced way to reintroduce dual type moves.

I want bug types to get a new move called hydrophobic threads which is a 60% bp bug/water move and it removes the water type/resistance from pokemon till it swaps out. It would make a lot of very defensive pokemon less effective at tanking moves while also making your water type moves now neutral to water types even if it's secondary was resistant. It would also neutralize weathers resistance bonus as it's primary is bug it can bypass primal Groudon ability going from immunity to neutral for 1 turn then super effective 2nd turn.

I don't think Game Freak would make a move 4x or 0.25x effective against any one type, surely they had a lot more ideas regarding moves that bypass normal effectiveness rules, but decided that with great power comes great responsibility. (Even though you can still get 0.25x with Flying Press under Electrify or Normalize...) Also I'm afraid you're gonna need more than a few bleeped-out F-bombs to break the MFK curse, there are literal 18+ gore My Little Pony animations that got flagged as Made For Kids. And age-restricted at the same time. Make that make sense.
