Perhaps the finest story ever told through a video game. It still touches my heart even today. Through all the pain of life, this stands to remind me of my childhood, Of the importance of friendship and of the beauty of the love you and best friend share. PMD Explorers of Time, Darkness, and Sky pulled of the greatest fictional story I've ever read, and managed to close it off with this beautifully touching moment that never fails to leave a tear in my eyes. Even now, after all these years I still find myself picking up Darkness and Sky just to play through the story. No other game has ever touched my heart in such a way. These games were truly pieces of artwork and they will live on in my heart forever.

I disagree. Don't misunderstand, the story of this game can't compare to any Pokemon game I've played before or since, it's just that good. But I wouldn't say best story ever told in any video game ever. Shadow of the Colossus, Ōkami, and the Last of Us all have amazing stories that I'd say are on par with this game.

Okay, that's it. *flame shield activated* Your partner is HANDS DOWN the best character in PMD2 Don't get me wrong, Grovyle is an excellent character, but his development doesn't start until towards the very end. HOWEVER, YOUR PARTNER on the other hand, starts developing straight from the beginning of the game, and only keeps developing. The friendship between you and your partner... is just unlike any friendship in any game I've ever played. And that's saying a lot. Which only makes the ending to this game (main story ending) even more heartbreaking. I'M TALKING BEFORE YOU GET RESURRECTED!

This is the song that keeps me motivated. It has a very calming feel but is also like "MY PARTNER IS GONE!" If you think about it, it shows how much you've connected. This game holds a very, very special place in my heart that can never be taken away. It is and always will be my favorite video game of all time. I was a Riolu and my partner was a Pikachu. I remember when I played for the first time, I got stuck all the time because I was so young. I also remember my fight against Dialga, all those reviver seeds gone lol. I ended up training both myself and my partner to lv100 in the post game. Even to this day, however many years later, I still replay this game with Riolu and Pikachu. I don't feel the same way when using any other Pokemon. The soundtrack, story, concepts, EVERYTHING! Is amazing about this game. People may say "oh the graphics are bad" personally, it adds that charm. It makes it seem fun and inviting and adds an art style. If you read this, you're probably a big fan like me too. You guys have any stories about this game? I'd love to hear them

Many people throughout the world may see Pokémon, gaming or anime as just a distraction from the day to day of life but I honestly got so into it all that I wept uncontrollably when I first saw this as a kid. What I saw as even more heartbreaking was that those from the future were gone too. Also it made me wonder what would it be like if I were to just start vanishing from existence and how it would effect the people around me. It was thanks to this part of the game that I truly realized how death and saying goodbye could be so sad. To anyone who reads this remember that your life is special and that this world we live in maybe cruel and unforgiving but that it is our duty to better this world we have if not for yourself or those around you then better it for those who live in it when you no longer are. The end may be cruel and sad but it is never truly the end for there is always someone who may have a happier life from the way you shape this world down to your final breath.

My first play through of these games... will always be one of my favorite memories of my gaming life... I remember it like it was yesterday... Piplup, a young, cheerful yet shy penguin, wanted to join an elite guild. Wigglytuff's Guild. However, this Piplup couldn't gather any courage to make his move and join, so he went to the beach to calm himself. And that's when everything happened. He finds a collapsed body on the sand of the calm surroundings. Piplup rushes over to the collapsed body to find a Chimchar, seeming unwell and even maybe sick. Chimchar regains consciousness and the two start talking. Chimchar claims that he came from a strange world, the human world. Piplup then shares his secret about a rock he found, claimed to be a Relic Fragment. Out of nowhere, a Zubat and a Koffing steal the Relic Fragment and make way towards Beach Cave. Furious, Piplup rushes toward the cave, then followed by Chimchar, still confused about what just happened. After a few minutes at the pit of the cave, our two hero's come across the duo who stole the Fragment. After a crushing defeat, the Zubat and the Koffing give up the rock and Piplup takes it back. And that's only the beginning of an adventure that no one else thought would happen. Joining the Guild after several days, Chimchar and Piplup made several new friends along their adventures. Meanwhile, a famous explorer going by the name Dusknoir visited Wigglytuff's Guild. Everyone was happy and very excited to see him. However, Piplup sensed something that didn't seem right about this "Dusknoir". He didn't say anything about it, but kept a close eye on him. But, a problem was in action. News states that a Pokemon goes around stealing objects known as Time Gears, said to keep the area where they are located in balance. This Pokemon was claimed by Magnezone, the officer of Treasure Town, to be last seen at Crystal Crossing. Chimchar and Piplup head over to the cave and make their way over to the thief. Battling many Pokemon including Frosslasses and Absols, they make their way to the end of the cave, when they see a green figure along with when seems to be an injured Pokemon. Running over to the injured Pokemon, the mysterious green figure stops our duo and says to stay out of the way. He introduces himself as the thief, Grovyle. Although he says he wants to save the world, Piplup refuses to believe Grovyle, and they engage in battle. With Grovyle's swift movements, he quickly disposed of Piplup, and ran off. Piplup struggles to get up, but gathered enough of his energy. Meanwhile, Chimchar and Piplup run over to the injured Pokemon, who later revealed himself to be Azelf, the Guardian of Crystal Crossing. After a brief explanation from Azelf about what's happening, our heroes return to the Guild and explain to Chatot, the second in command, that they were unable to stop Grovyle. Furious, Chatot sends them to bed early. The next day, Magnezone happily says that Grovyle has been captured. There was a meeting in Treasure town for Dusknoir's depart. After saying his farewells, he asks Chimchar and Piplup to step forward. After doing so, he grabs them and takes them through a mysterious hole as they pass out! After waking up, Chimchar wakes Piplup only to find themselves to be tied up to poles. Another familiar voice also comes into play, none other than Grovyle. A few minutes go by, then they are confronted by a group of purple Pokemon with gems for eyes, Sableye. They start scratching at the ropes, hoping to cripple the three. But, with Grovyle's quick wits, he commands Piplup and Chimchar to break through the damaged ropes. They break out and head for Dusknoir, who kidnapped them into what seems to be the future! Dungeon after dungeon, and enemy after enemy, they finally arrive to Dusknoir for a battle! Feeling outmatched, Dusknoir calls in his 6 Sableye sidekicks, and the battle begins! A few minutes later, Dusknoir retreats, and allows our heroes to go back to the present time. Grovyle explains that Chimchar and Piplup need to see Dialga, ruler of time itself. They set out on another journey, on top of a Lapras that takes them to Hidden Land, where some of the strongest Pokemon live. After a long trip through the dungeon, they encounter Dusknoir once again, but this time, Piplup's Relic Fragment started to shine! Insterting it into a hole in a much bigger rock, a bright light shines, creating the Rainbow Stoneship! But, Grovyle's end was near. He had to take Dusknoir back to the future, where they both came from. Grovyle turned to Piplup and said, "Do it. I know you can." Another bright light shone, and Grovyle and Dusknoir were gone, leaving nothing behind. Taking the Rainbow Stoneship a mysterious tower, out heroes set foot in their final quest. Save time. Battling vigorously through Porygons, Solrocks, Lunatones, and even Salamences, they came to the very top of the tower, where Dialga awaited their arrival. However, Dialga was enraged for time being disrupted, and attacked Chimchar! Piplup and Chimchar were about to take on the being of time itself, Dialga. A flamethrower came from Chimchar, and a Hydro Pump from Piplup, and Diagla was down. Regaining sanity, Dialga restored everything back to normal. Victorious, Chimchar and Piplup started to head back. But something strange happened to Chimchar... His body started glowing, explaining to Piplup that his time was up. Crying, Piplup refused to believe that this was true, but Chimchar started hovering into the sky, slowly fading to the sky. Heartbroken, Piplup went back to Treasure Town and told everyone what happened. Everyone was silent, not believing what happened... Life was sad for Piplup, and the entire Guild, until, a few months later, Piplup took a stroll on the beach. He started remembering memories of Chimchar, and teared up. Meanwhile, Dialga noticed Piplup's pain, and granted him a wish that would change his life. A glowing orb fell from the sky, and went away, revealing Chimchar. Rejoice went throughout the town, and Chimchar and Piplup were never separated again. Those were my memories of playing this fantastic masterpiece of a game, and I'll never forget those days.

All of the PMD games(those that came out in the US), all of them made me cry. But, I think Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity was the saddest. You are going back to the human world. "Hydreigon gives a you stone that can record voices(forgot what's called.), You activate it." You hear the farewells of all your friends.(In the postgame) "You see into the Pokemon World." Your friends were supposed have forgotten you. Your Partner finds a way to bring you back. Hydreigon takes your Partner there. Your Partner asks you if you want to come back.(You can say yes or no) If you yes, you and your Partner get reunited.(In the Post-Post Game) You(the player) learn that you can travel in between the Human world and the Pokemon World.

I have Played all of them from PMD Red Rescue and Blue Rescue, to Darkness and Sky, then Gates to Infinity. My first time I was a Eevee in red, a Pikachu in Blue, a Pikachu in darkness, a Vulpix in Sky, and an Axew in Gates. I have to say this music always got me crying even as the adult I am today I still cry hearing this. PMD is one of the most under rated spin off pokemon games ever. Though if they come out with another 3D version of it, it needs to be better than Gates was. Because that game needed some advice from PMD Explorers of Sky on how to make a story and after story. Plus they completely downgraded the roster of pokemon and completely took out the personality test. But overall I liked the games and I can only hope they do better and make a new one with 6th gen pokemon.
@viviansnowfang10 жыл бұрын
i agree with you its *IS* very underrated the story is better than any of the original pokemon games the ending wants you to just speed up the credits so you can see your pokemon back with your partner pokemon even though gates to infinity was the worst for the story the ending was just the saddest from them all you are beeing told that your friends will never remember you and you are hearing the voices again and i hope one for gen 6 comes out

SonicWerehoglover124 No 3ds emulator so I cant play it. but I saw the walktrough.(spelled wrong yes?) they removed personality test so you can just choose the pokemon you want. Ok. YOU CAN'T CHOOSE EEVEE AS YOUR STARTER/PARTNER! Eevee and riolu 4 ever!

*wipes tears* this is THE game which taught me the MEANING and IMPORTANCE of a good story in a video game. after a while I got tired of the gameplay, but I was ultimately compelled by the events and the characters, so by the time I got here, I was LIGITIMATLY hurt seeing the two main characters practically being torn apart for all of time.....

0.37 has to be my favourite image because people seem to forget that its not just you who your partner has lost, it's Grovyle too. Your partner promised to save the world for Grovyle, but doing that they sacrificed their best friend. They suffer so much in this game and that what makes this game even better. It's about moving on and living. And in the end, you come back, and Grovyle is revealed to be alive. I will always love Pokemon Mystery Dungeon. This is the greatest adventure.

This game is the only game(explorers of sky) to cause me to shed a tear, that's why I will say although I enjoy final fantasy as well as the normal pokemon games I firmly believe that explorers of sky is the best rpg ever story wise

I run an Eevee and Riolu/Vulpix team (1st trial and 2nd trial respectively). Eevee x Vulpix is a cute combination but Riolu is better for its immense power and coverage which can defeat a lot of things Vulpix can't. Eevee is literally the worst usable character aside from skitty or the likes due to the poor movepool and non-existant run-away ability, but with adaptability it still works.
@MultiBlazingPhoenix8 жыл бұрын
周生生 You get flail with eevee which with adaptability is a superpowerful move and run away has a use against trace pokemon plus helping hand early on boosts are quite nice
@周生生-f1f8 жыл бұрын
+MultiBlazingPhoenix Yes, but in raw power Eevee isn't hard enough (especially when you are fighting some steel type like Dialga). You are super reliant on allies unless the eevee you are using is ultra powerful.

Infinity is Okay, it's really short though, and the DLC makes you WAAAY too OP, So, eh. I gave it a 3.5/5 but that's just me It's not bad, it's certainly memorable, but I didn't like the overall dungeon gameplay, nor the graphical style, I prefered the pixelmon if you will (Haha, Puns)

I've heard that it's rather easy . I already know the basic storyline , but i also don't think that will negativity impact the gameplay for me .

I've beaten Explorers of Darkness three times, and I break into tears each time it happens. I feel the pain that my partner is feeling at that exact moment. The feeling of losing someone who you've forged an amazing and literally life-changing bond with. Lost to time itself, they won't return. I've never had to experience someone I love die yet, but this right here makes me feel like I just did.

After the ending of Blue Rescue Team, I didn't play the game for a month. It was too sad. No other game has ever done that to me. Mystery Dungeon is truly a piece of art. Only people who have played the game have ever been touched like this. I'll never forget the memories of this adventure. Not ever.

I Know Exactly what you mean I have been through the game many times, but the funny thing is people saying: "this game is shit because it made them cry." it just cracks me up so much.
@Falconcommand58 жыл бұрын
Yeah I completely understand but when I finished explorers of sky (first one I played) I cried to a point I didn't understand because this games ending is so sad to a point that I can't even listen to 3 seconds without starting to tear up
@lukastheriolu78708 жыл бұрын
Yeah it happens to me every time i look at the ending, This Video, and the actual song i think it's called i don't want to let go. And also Explorers of Sky is Probably the best out of the whole series so far and might stay that way, it's a pretty good Starter Mystery dungeon but i would suggest starting out with blue/Red first. Also idk if it's just me but i love seeing Pixxels like the one in Mystery dungeon Red, blue, Darkness, Time, Sky instead of the 3D graphics Gate to infinity has or super mystery dungeon. BTW gates to infinity is the worst Mystery dungeon.

I also made lyrics: Well, it's time... *But I don't want you to go...* I meant to, tell you about the time... when it came that I would have to go... *Please just stay with me...* I'm sorry, it had to end this way... I didn't mean to hurt you my best friend... *Just hold on, I'll take your hand...* No, it has, to be me in the end... for it was you, who had pulled me through... all this time, when we were having fun... But now... it has to end... *Please no my friend!* I will always, watch out for you in my place... where I can always be with you... *But if you can, just stay here with me please!* No I'm sorry... That's not the way things can be... (repeat)
