Pokemon Mystery Dungeon - Recruiting Kecleon

I recruit the elusive, Kecleon!
To recruit Kecleon, you'll need to enter a Dungeon that has Kecleon Shops.
Dungeons with Kecleon Shops: Mt. Blaze, Frosty Forest, Magma Cavern, Mt. Faraway, Western Cave, Northern Range, Pitfall Valley, Wish Cave, Desert Region, Wyvern Hill, Joyous Tower, Purity Forest, Oddity Cave, and Remains Island.
You'll want to be level 90+ with a Friend Bow. His Friend Area is Overgrown forest.
Steal a item from his shop, decline to pay, and he'll come after you. Defeat Kecleons until one asks to join your team. Escape the floor, and use a Escape Orb, or get to the end of the Dungeon and you have Kecleon!

Patrick So I managed to do both in the northern range dungeon by being a ghost Pokemon, drained the floor with a drought orb, stayed in a one tile piece of wall so they couldn't hit me, the piece of wall was very close to the stairs and I kept defeating kecleons and one asked to join me eventually and I said yes and quickly got to the stairs with it alive! ;)

Easiest way to do this is to bring a Trawl orb go to the stairs use the orb and camp out near the staircase. I love kecleon so much he helped me beat the rest of the game and all those annoying 99 floor dungeons

That's actually a good idea. Kecleon is definitely nice if you're not already maxed out like I was.

Best pokemon to survive a Kecleon is a level 100 Torkoal,with a defense and sp defense higher than 70 and the moves Amnesia and Iron Defense, max out your defenaivw stats with moves and they will hit 0-2 damage, and with its ability White Smoke those Kecleon's screech won't work..

On mystery dungeon red and blue the easiest way is 1 - Purchase his area overgrown forrest. 2 - Fill up all the areas with pokemon except that 1 spot. So it helps you have a few of them as possible 3 - Reach max Lucario Rank 4 - Go to Wish Cave, with Alakazam defeat Jirachi make a wish "Something Good?" Next morning Kecleon will show up outside your base to join Kecleon is the best Level 1 dungeon pokemon that exists. You will not be disapointed.

Yves Mab the secret is not to purchace any pokemon areas in the first place. This eliminates the amount you need to catch. Also note that any area other then overgrown forrest can be filled up with any pokemon, you dont need the evolutions just fill em with easiest pokemon. Overgrown forrest you might have to get specifics, what i personally do is save before making a wish and reload a few times.

A 0.1% chance of recruiting Kecleon means that if you beat 1000 of them you still only have a 63% chance of recruiting at least one (provided that all the 1000 Kecleon you beat are one tile away from you when you beat them). And yes, I'm a nerd

It's just binomial probability of taking 99.9% (chance you won't recruit it) and multiplying it by itself 1000 times and subtracting it from 1 and you get roughly 63.23%. If you kill 5000, you're 99.5% likely. It's not 100%, but highly unlikely you'll kill 5000 and not get one.

Quick question. What if you used Thunderbolt or a similar move to take out multiple Kecleons at once in a one tile radius? Do they all give a chance to recruit? I was told you had to take them out one by one with single target moves to have a chance to recruit one. Still trying to get one with Registeel (a very nice choice if your defenses are over 100+, resists all of their moves and Clear Body makes Screech/Tail Whip useless)

Farmer With Shotgun they have maxed stats of 255. And to actually recruit them in those games you have to be level 99 or 100 hold the gold mask and have a Pokémon with the fast friend IQ. Have just the golden mask and being level 99 or 100 won’t be enough to raise kecleon’s recruit rate. Though I hear it’s slightly eaiser since it increases to 0.5 as opposed to 0.1

You'll need to be at least level 91, have the friend bow equipped, and defeat it as it's right in front of you. Kecleon has a negative % recruitment rate, and your level + the friend bow make it just high enough to be possible.

Do you have a Pokemon at level 90+ with a friend bow? He's next to impossible to catch other wise, but if you're still having trouble you just have to keep trying! His recruit rate is extremely low even with the best conditions.

Golden Mask wasn't introduced until Explorers of Time/Darkness/Sky. Having a Friend Bow and being level 90 or above gave you the best percentage in Red and Blue Rescue Team.

It's natural chance of recruitment is -33.9%. Being at level 100 gives you +24% and the Friend Bow another +10%. This is the only way to have a chance to recruit it, and that chance is still 0.1%.

Se necesitan jugar aproximadamente unas 20 partidas en las que derrotar a 300/500 Kecleons cada una !! para que las probabilidades empiecen a estar de tu lado y es que 1/1000 no es poca cosa, te parece increible derrotar a 500 Kecleon pero realmente no es la gran cosa si haces los preparativos correctos...
