The wildest scene for me is the one where Wurmple tells Swellow that he keeps thinking about him gulping him down, only for Swellow to be shocked and give reasurance that he’d never do that, and they have a tender moment together. Their team name is Team Tasty, for those not in the know, lol.

@beatrix1120 Yeah, it's pretty wild. It's an Easter egg, way later in the game. They have this whole thing going with them. Earlier, you talk to Wurmple and he hints that he fears Swellow might want to eat him. Here's an exact quote of this interaction: Wurmple: "Excuse me? Why did I pick the name Team Tasty? Well... Er, um... I think that's how my partner will think of me eventually... Y-y-yeesh..." I don't know when it happens exactly, but eventually, there is a cutscene at the beach where Wurmple confronts Swellow with his fears. Here's the part in question: Swellow: "What... what are you suggesting? Me? Eat you? Wurmple! You're my trusted partner. You're my one... and only partner. There's no replacing you. You and me, we're going to keep on exploring like we've always done. Hm? Why are you crying?" Wurmple: "Eep... Thank you, Swellow... You are my one and only leader. I'm very... So very h-h-happy..."

The whole primary benefit of grabbing a water type starter is access to bubble early on making tododile one of the worst water starters for mystery dungeon. Why just slow when you can slow and do damage from a distance.

@@ultimaterecoil1136 Bubble is 20 power in gen 4, which means iirc PMD Dark/Time/Sky, too, and has the same chance of slowing that Scald has of burning. No thank you, I'd like to keep my GUARUNTEED Slow on the enemy so my Riolu friend can Focus Punch for free 100% of the time against bosses.

@@kirbyfreakyt4695 any move’s power can be boosted but a move with awful pp will never be good in mystery dungeon. And if you really want to hinder bosses doubling up on stuns works until you run out of pp ( they only work for 1 turn on bosses but with 2 different stunning affects like attract+imprison on vulpix for example pretty much every boss is male so a female vulpix can do this to the vast majority of bosses) or one of the powders into attract or 2 different partners with stuns) gives them no turns. Scary face still gives some to the opponent. And bubble is still gonna be ohkoing non resist while exploring frankly riolu with focus punch should be ohkoing most bosses so your pp matters a significant amount more for the rest of your damaging moves. Maybe they’d get a turn if it was a resisted one or ones that are 1 single significantly strong unit as opposed to a group of several weak units ( though fighting weak single bosses still get one shot like dialga) but you don’t need any more power. What you’d need is longevity range and crowd control. The whole point of picking riolu is that single handedly solves the one boss situation. Bubble can ko several opponents while exploring up to that point from a distance. This is the game where fire blast is utter garbage and ember is at least decently ok if outclassed by other better fire moves like heatwave a large pp is a very big deal especially on a ranged attack. You only really want 1 move for power vs bosses and you’d want a second stab for dungeon exploration. You realistically don’t even want any of the starters anyway you’d want pikachu for roomwide damage as a riolu partner but of the water starters you’d want one with bubble

Idk, I kinda like that he only came around at the very end, the original scene was pretty good with him "accidentally" dropping the relic and then telling us to just take it Kinda like gengar who screwed us over massively in the first game, accidentally ran into gardevoir and then helped create the teleportation gem

I mean in that same dungeon, he and his team just straight up mug our partner and he only changes his mind after getting beat up by Kabuto and his gang. It felt very random especially with how quickly this happened while Gengar actually had a reason to change with him being reminded of his old partner and how wrong he was to do that.
