I'm not yet prepared for Nuzlock, but I've kinda given myself a Nuzlite set of rules while I work up to it; same capture rules, gym leader's aces are basis for level caps, and if a pokemon dies in a random encounter I can keep them if I have a revive on hand OR can get back to a Pokemon center without getting another encounter. Not quite as strict, but still puts a bit of pressure on. It's been a fun way to experience Pokemon Infinite for the first time, but on my second run I think I will play with full Nuzlock rules + randomization of random encounters.

I fight optional trainers for the money. In B2, I had 500k by the time I got to Ghetsis and spent it all on vitamins to prepare for Ghetsis/E4.

You just need to apply the patch to your pokemon emerald.gba file and open it with an app that can play .gba games

So you can mod pkmn for 250 typed relatively easily tbf. For types it is editing one file and dropping in image files into a graphics folder

What's so weird about fighting every trainer? That's what a hardcore nuzlocke is. You can't just skip part of the challenge. The rare candy method is fun but it's a casual method for sure. Mileage varies, of course, since some games have more interesting trainer design than others. Though I don't know what it's called but I DO know that there's people who like, require fighting all trainers on a route in a row without a Pokemon Center, including Gyms & such as routes as well? That's rather swaggy in terms of challenge. Vanilluxe doesn't really strike me as a "Not many people's favourite Pokemon is this" mon. That's a pretty unique and good Pokemon. Not my favourite by a long shot but like, believable as a favourite. the water starter is never wrong, though thinking alpha and jaiden are neighbours that just walk into eachother's houses unprompted is exactly what conclusion a Pokemon fan would come to lol optional dupes is soooo abusable hate that rule >^< even a casual run it can just turn it into "Hey, you will basically always have Gyarados/Excadrill to pull you out of a jam" easy mode is a harder nuzlocke because your level cap is lower so you get less moves
