@Logan Shaw There _are_ of unusually large pokemon. But that's due to the King Gene. Remember how Ash's Charizard was tiny compared to some other Charizard in the Unown Movie? Shadow... I know it's late but... Pidgeot was only ever in one battle and it was the moment it evolved. Of course pidgeotto lost most of its battles. What did you expect a pidgeotto to do in most instances? Most matches were set up where it would come out first or second so that the next pokemon would clean up and win the whole battle in a slightly even match. Someone has to lose, so whynot the most bland party member.

Something that i would love to see in the anime is this: - Ash by carefully planning and strategy wins the Pokemon league of a region. - In the next series/season the protagonist will be a new character that we've never seen before. - This protagonist earns all the badges of their region. - The protagonist goes to the Pokemon league. - After some very challenging fights, the protagonist finally reaches the Champion... and the Champion's identity is none other than Ash as an adult. - Ash's team would consist of the most powerful Pokemon that he has been collecting during his adventures plus a very familiar Raichu.

Ash always says he wants to be a Pokemon Master, but I don't see how that could be accomplished by releasing all of his best Pokemon! I get it: he really loves and cares for his Pokemon in the show, to him, they're his friends. I would feel the same way about my own Pokemon too, but I also would raise and train them to be the best they can be so we could rise up to the top and become champions, not just abandon them because I felt like they'd be better off without me. For God's sake, Ash was no better than the jerks who abandoned their Pokemon because they thought they were weak, which is ironic because three of Ash's Pokemon were previously disowned by their trainers for being too weak and then he disowned them for being too strong!
