I agree this was somewhat an idea at one point, but they just ran out of cards of limitation’s to do the already releasing it. They had to just roll with that there’s a lot of stuff that prototype builds change overtime based on the final versions as far as Pokémon goes, it was a series that it was cartridge, limitations, one way or another.

Thank you, I'm noticing a lot of them were recycled into a lot of later gens. But I agree, right now we're still missing 4-5 pokemon in the index numbers between 1-191 we're missing 192 to 299. I think index number 135 is baby kangaskhan.

I have this nagging feeling that one of the remaining missing beta Pokemon for Red and Green is a Growlithe pre-evolution since that line is a version exclusive equivalent to the Vulpix line, which also has a pre-evolution in the beta. Also worth noting how both pre-evolutions were planned in the GS beta too.

Totartle was all I wanted when I was a kid. To this day Wartortle is my favorite pokémon, Blastoise is cool but it was clearly different from his pre evolutions and now it makes so much sense why. It wasn't even designed by the same artist, you can see the difference clearly.

The Cheep Cheep loking pokemon shares the beta Rattata Cry and the sorta glitched Raticate Cry, i have conducted at least 6 MissingNo. Glitch compilations and heard the Raticate cry more times than i can count, also probably a beta Onix Cry, Sandshrew cry, and maybe even an eevee cry Also Pendraken looks like the Blooper from Mario.

@@OmegaVideoGameGod View my MissingNo. Glitch comps for some video evidence that contains SOME possible unused sounds, cries, etc. also the effect of MissingNo. corrupts the following sound files Oak Theme - Slowed down and using only 1 Channel Celadon City - Same effect as Oak Theme Vermilion City - No effect but plays in literally the wrong place Cinnabar Island - Same effect as Oak Theme S.S Anne - RARELY HAPPENS but same effect as Oak theme BUT sometimes cuts itself out and or softlocks the game...probably indefinetely. Hall of Fame Theme - Same as Oak Theme.

We're missing a lot of prototype data still, according to Satoshi Tajiri himself there was over 300 Pokemon designs for just gen 1 alone. According to Ken Sugimori every Pokemon generation most of their deigns and ideas are scrapped. I believe they have these ideas saved on their computer in their database somewhere so if we can just get the data we could learn more.

Funnily enough, in peoples glitch videos, I’ve heard at least 10 of these beta Pokémon’s sounds, even though they went unused in the end, I guess gamefreak didn’t know at the time how to do better and erase all beta sounds, luckily for us, this seems to have all started off with finding missingno, to explore the game for more glitches 😂

I don't know how to feel. On one hand, it would have been really cool to get these Pokémon. But on the other hand, we never would have gotten Pichu, Magnezone, Crobat, or Mega Blastoise. We probably never would have gotten Poliwrath or Politoed either, since Poliwealth appears to be a mix of both.

yes that’s where it came from You could also say there was in the prototype there was a Pokémon called poly wealth and they took the concept of it being the king of the pond but then they ended up taking poly toad and reversing it into that so it’s the king of the Swamp basically

186 entries is a damn exciting number. In Gen 1 we had 151 Pokémon; 19 from Gen 2 and 12 from Gen 4 were related to Evolution lines from the 151. Gen 6 added Sylveon and Gen 8 added 3 Pokémon related to Meowth, Mr. Mime & Farfetch'd. (Only counting before Hisui Pokémon). 151 + 19 + 12 + 1 + 3 = 186 So basically *all* Kanto related Pokémon before Legends Arceus could have been placed in a Gen 1 Game 😊

Warning: I'll be giving my opinion on all the cut Pokémon, so, WAAAAAAY to much text Tortatle fits with Squirtle's line theme better, but I don't think I would prefer it over Blastoise, specially with how iconic the tank turtle is Gorochu could've been an interesting addition to the Pikachu family, I don't think Pichu was really necesary to exist anyway as Pikachu is already small and not too strong, so it'd make sense if it was the first stage of a three stage line. Maybe if Megas were to return someday, Gorochu could be reworked to be a Mega Raichu Nidoreing and Weirduck are kinda redundant for my taste, no problem with they don't making it into the game Trixy, as weird as it sounds, I think should've been kept, just becase thematically makes sense, as part of Vulpix's thing is getting more tails as it evolves, and going from 3 to 6 to 9 looks pretty organic, and it would be good to have more three stage lines of Fire types that are not starters (really, haven't you noticed that there aren't many Fire types with three stage lines out of starter lines?). However, I think if Trixy was kept, the entire line would need higher stats, just so it is not another useless baby Pokémon Poliwealth is...kinda weird to me, I much prefer what Poliwrath ended up being, and the king thematic was reused on Politoed wich looks way cuter Coinya is cute but unnecesary, and Magnetite is redundant, while Bittybat is both unnecesary and redundant (not to mention Magnezone and Crobat wouldn't be a thing if Magnetite and Bittybat were kept). I already think Goldeen and Seaking are kinda lame, so good think Koijack didn't made it (the efforts to don't let it become extinct didn't work in the end :P) Cheep and Jabetta are kinda weird, but at least the idea is original, I'll give them that, even if I'm ok we didn't get them The fact Kotora's line was cut is a crime against humanity that should've been corrected decades ago, but today it still haven't been fixed (not to mention the crime was comited twice as it was also cut from Gold and Silver). I much prefer how the line looks in this prototype as Gorotora looks intimidating and cute at the same time (at times I fear this line is lost for good, as I think it was reworked as Shinx's line, which I love, but so I would love Kotora's line to be able to be there along Shinx's) Ribbito is fine, but Croakozuna is not my thing, I guess Poliwrath is a Fighting type because its line was sort of merged with these others, I don't think we lost important things by not having the sumo frogs Cragodile is pretty ugly, but the idea it might be based on a cockatrice is at least a concept I think should be retought (just hope a modern design wouldn't look that cursed) Guardia is pretty cool looking, it's a shame it didn't make it in the final cut (is it confirming that Cubone are really Kangaskhan's cubs that lost their mothers?), maybe it could be reworked as a new Marowak evolution, since the line is still a two stage Bloonder is such a boring design, good think it was scraped, I guess the concept was reworked on Driflloon and Drifblim wich are way better designs and takes on the concept. Same can be said about Stacktus being boring, and having better takes on the concepts with Cacnea and Cacturne Blastyke is cute, but since Squirtle and Blastoise's lines were merged, I don't think we lost that much (even if I like how on this prototype their lines had a more cohesive thematic) Skimper's line I actually like, woulnd't complain if they were kept on the final game. I feel like some of it's concepts were reused for Sobble's line (also why so many of this cut Pokémon are related to water? Geez, and we complain about Hoenn...) Charcolt is...honestly kinda unnecesary, maybe if the changes on Ponyta's line as it evolves were more, let's say, extreme, it woudn't be bad to keep, but as it is, we lost nothing with it Ohmega is a cool concept that I think hasn't been used as much as it could as are mechanic/mechanized Pokémon (at least not until the future Paradox Pokémon on Violet version), tho for some reason I think the desing looks unpolished, like it needed some extra work (or maybe Gen 1's spirte quality is the one to blame) Trample looks ok I guess, but I think Donphan and Copperajah's lines look better than this (I don't really like elephants anyway, but at least the idea of a humanoid elephant wouldn't be bad to revisit someday on the franchise) Scaribou having spikes is kinda too much, it looks more unique than other deer Pokémon, so I can give it that. It doesn't resonates with me, but I don't hate it Blottle and Pendraken look good, would be a problem if they stayed, but I'm not losing my mind they didn't (and again, really were too many Water types). Maws scares me a lot as I'm really scared of sharks, but I guess that makes it a good desing (I preffer what was done with Sharpedo and Garchomp tho) Freezeti is not my thing, as it's human features look jarring (have the feeling it should look more simian like, let's say, like the ape enemies on Golden Sun, but with the white fur and blueish gray skin or something). The yeti concept is good, tho was reworked for Abomasnow, which isn't my favorite but is ok It's a shame Empressive was cut not once, but twice, specially with how underwelming Farfetch'd is. At least Galarian Farfetch'd has Sirfetch'd to kinda compensate for it, but would still like if this beta evolution for the original Kantonian duck was a thing Decilla and Roardan look ok, aside from those heads that are too big (again, I guess it's because of Gen 1 sprites), but the idea of a Godzilla Pokémon to me was executed better with Tyranitar's line Overall, some of these cut mons would be pretty cool if made it in the final game, or be rescued for future generations, but of course some are better to stay on the cutting room floor, even if they're still an interesting piece of story in regards to Pokémon's development

I can tell you this much, we don’t have all the prototype data, the data was hacked from game freak’s servers and Nintendo’s gigaleak but it wasn’t me, helix chamber was the one who leaked this, however from my understanding now the front sprites aren’t real some are but they were carefully redone. I think they have more data but we don’t have it unless we dig into the original source code from green and red the original 1995 versions the game was suppose to have like 191 Pokémon 9 gym badges and 237 pokemon moves we definitely would have a longer version of the game but we didn’t get it due to cartridge limits some locations were also longer too.

yes, mewtwo was moved to the silph co in a different area that was cut from final version of the game, a cut city, I think Giovanni was the 9th gym leader they just didn’t reveal it until after you had found him, moltres was moved to cerulean city cave and you didn’t have to beat the game to get there, professor oak was the final boss, there’s some more elite four was different had a longer dungeon victory road was slightly different.

@BackabaAbaa Well this is actually a very good question and this is what’s interesting see if you were to actually look up a list of Pokémon right now in the original 190 but it’s really 191 Pokémon in the original index with the rhydon being the very first you will find out that there are 5-6 different slots that we still don’t have but due to some timing and the order placement of how the Pokémon were organized we have been able to sort of narrow it down based on my speculation I’m going to say that one of them is a baby Kangaskhan one of them is a mid tier for bottle in that it’s basically like in an ink squid at this point and I think the other one is a baby Dodrio well if you actually played gen 2 prototype this Pokémon is actually in the game. The last three are a scrapped family of three I’m think a grass and poison types like oddish and bellspourt family.

Nidoran M can also evolve into Nidoreign, the only thing required is a Moon stone :)
