You're confusing Throat Chop and Payback. Throat Chop always has 80 base power and prevents the target from using sound-based moves. Payback has 50 power, but doubles to 100 power if you are hit earlier in the same turn.

I don't shiny hunt so any shiny I've found has been pure luck. However I've found 2 in this game which may not be a lot to some but I'm pretty happy with them. (azurill and pawmi if you're curious)

Don't know if this helps anyone but KZbin has a glitch for mobile where sometimes if you start up a video, there won't be sound. However, exiting the video and then pulling it back up typically fixes it.

Yeah... despite the similarities between Arceus and Scarlet/Violet, one mechanic Arceus has which Scarlet/Violet does NOT is having shiny sound effects on the field, so it's extraordinarily easy to miss shiny Pokémon. :P

Picard's Log Day 39 YO! Today is going to be an absolutely AMAZING day! I can already feel it! Let's get things started, shall we? We started things off today by getting the TM for Electric Terrain while exploring! ^_^ Then we managed to catch a Shiny Cubchoo! ^_^ #Awesome #ShinyHype Then to start the gym challenge off, we got into a battle against a Gym Trainer named Tas who started things off by sending out his Shuppet and his Greavard so Scykoh let Craftee and Goose :) play with this fearsome foes. ^_^ Then we were challenged by another Gym Trainer whose name was Lani and who sent out her Haunter and Misdreavus so Scykoh let Craftee and Goose :) continue to play! ^_^ Then, we took on MC Sledge himself who sent out his Sableye and Drifblim so Scykoh let Craftee and Necali finish things off. ^_^ Then we were finally able to take on the Gym Leader Ryme herself! Ryme started things off by sending out her Mimikyu and Banette so Scykoh let Craftee and Goose :) show this Ryme she's past her prime! Ryme responded by sending out her Houndstone so Scykoh let Craftee and Goose :) continue playing while by rhyming we be slaying. ^_^ Ryme then sent out a Terastallized version of Toxtricity so Scykoh let Goose :) and Flam put down this rhyming ma'am! ^_^ Ryme also gave us the TM for Shadow Ball as a prize! ^_^ What will happen tomorrow!?

the critical capture is not a real crit, if you've caught a pokemon before it plays the crit animation to save time

Yeah uh the order of the story is weird at least in terms of progression because of how the games were advertised. You know, because of the fact that you can do all the major things in any order you want (gym battles, the titans and team star boss members to be exact) in Scarlet and Violet but...they all DO have set levels that ISN'T scaled to your overall level depending on your progression. And by just looking at the level differences alone between all three things, it seems like you're supposed to start with the lower half of Paldea first before tackling the upper half. Even more strange is that you kinda have to jump back and forth between west and east, leaving north as the last part of Paldea to explore. This whole thing kinda defeats the point of doing the three major things in any order you want.

Ryme's rhymes mostly work, but the text didn't have it so that the rhymes were at the end of each line, so they didn't show the correct tempo. If it would have been voice acted, it would have been easier to tell.
