I wanted to make sandwiches specifically for normal encounters and rock type xp to help level up larvitar and pupitar for my pokedex. Im literally clueless as to how this mechanic works and the only thing people make videos about are custom shiny odds sandwiches.

The guy's recipes are tied to gym badges specifically so if you are trying to 100% everything else before that, he will give you 0 recipes before you beat a gym

Replaying the game and actually want to learn how the sandwiches work. I was too salty about there being so many food shops vs clothing shops my first run through. Also as a Latin person it’s weird that they were like “you know what Spain is really known for? SANDWICHES” like bruh they could’ve done a paella mechanic where you add all the different ingredients to a rice base and it would’ve been perfect.

What determines the meal power level? Some people say the points in that category. However I’ve made some with over 200 points in the power category and over a hundred in the type. Still ended up with level 1. Also made level 2 power with less the 100 points. I can’t find any consistency.

It took me forever to figure this out but it seems like the determining factor for lv2 is the type (i.e. ghost), not the power (Encounter) and the threshold for ghost encounter for example is ghost to be 180 or higher and encounter to be the highest type.

So for the exp power, does it effect the exp yield of the type you are fighting, or the type of pkmn receiving it?? There isn’t a clear explanation :/

This is exactly what I've been wondering too. If it effects the yield from the type of pokemon defeated then exp power: normal and encounter power: normal will be good for chansey xp farming

I like the curry and its ideals a lot better than the sandwich making, it is a little too generic for such an unfinished product full of bugs If this had a way to cook them in the way sandwiches are prepared usually, Scarlet and Violet's further play value and the interactivity would have me sold a little more the curry was better implemented, I'd play sword and shield and I hope I'm not too late to the party for those games being as far removed from playing any pokemon game as I'd be (20 yrs exactly)
