At least a few of these clips are 100% staged. Nobody is gonna look at your teams full of commonly used gimmick Pokémon and act surprised. They’re almost all extremely competitively viable and utilize strategies that have existed for years and years. I’ve clocked many, many evenings into showdown. Tried all the formats dozens of times. Have a fat list of totally original teams (zero of which utilize legendaries) and in all my time of playing, I’ve never EVER seen someone actually mock a team.

"Toxic people genuinely seem rare" I can't speak for Showdown in particular, but they sure aren't rare in the world in general. Grown adults (or indeed, younger people) having salty, petulant tantrums over a videogame or other trivial matter sadly don't even surprise me anymore when I see them. I pretty much expect each new person I meet to be unhinged by default at this point, and then it's a nice surprise if they turn out to be pleasant and reasonable. That's the planet we live on.

Kinda crazy how few people realize. Just makes in seem like none of the viewers actually use showdown. They’d know conversations even remotely like this are probably 1 in 10,000. Just a single ten minute compilation would probably take hundreds of hours to gather legitimately.
