I think designing a unique variation of this theme for every single gym leader would be really hard, considering how little you'd have to work with for some of the characters.

I have listened to so many covers of the SwSh Gym Leader Battle theme and this one FAR outstrips the others. It sticks to the main theme and doesn't try to use the dynamic variances that occur based on the state of battle. This allows it to be its own cover with its own personality while staying true to the source material - 0:51-0:58 always gets me as such an EPIC part of this cover. Love it.
