Ironically, there is a 'Burst mode' in the pokemon setting too, using burst hearts. But despite what the name might imply, what this form change actually does is just a human-pokemon hybrid where the two merge together in a fusion dance, the pokemon trapped inside a crystal and the human in full control with all the pokemon's powers.

A thing that's usually ignored in this discussion (and in hipotetical battles between franchises overall) is the intelligence. With the exception of Psychic types, Grass types (because you know, Sunflora may be lame, but an actual sun flower can't respond to commands no matter how hard you try), Dark types (because most dark type moves and pokemon have more to do with morally questionable stuff rather than dark powers), fairy types (similar to dark type, their themes are really into human intellect territory), humanoid fighting types (can we talk about how a lot of them make their own clothes? That puts them at least in the paleolithic..) and pokemon based on objects (for obvious reasons), pokemon are usually as smart as the animal they are, yeah, they understand commands and have some high emotional and social intelligence, but, that only let's the on dog level. The average Digimon is capable of speech as soon as baby II level, and in multiple sources they have their own city's and economy's, some of the members of those communitys belong to species that are sometimes depicted as unable to speak and straight up bestial (such as digimon next order's skullgreymon who is just a chill dude), and taking into account that intellect is a stat in digimon, probably what makes a digimon wild or sentient depends on it. The point is digimon are usually human smart and potentially smarter regardless of type and species, while pokemon are usually domestic animal smart, a little human smart, or beyond human smart depending on type and species. Digimon are also famous for being extremely independent in battle and their tamer being more of a support for buffs, heals, and evolving, while pokemon are super dependant of their trainer for every move. So, a wild digimon against a wild Pokemon has the upper hand. A Pokemon trainer against a wild digimon may have a chance depending of it's team and the digimon that's facing. A Pokemon trainer against a digimon tamer is assault. And a digimon tamer against a wild Pokemon is premeditated assassination. In a nutshell, Agumon can win against Charizard because he has gone to university and Charizard not.

For example, Guilmon's claws are basically anteater claws, not only by shape, but it's special technique "rock breaker" confirms that they serve the same digging purpose ¿Why is that op? This type of claws can cut open the belly of Jaguars with ease, so, a Guilmon with malicious intend that's feeling lazy about just burning you down with his fire breath, will slice your guts out like if you where a fish. Animals like dolphins and chimpanzees are responsible of many horror storys both in captivity and the wild thanks to their intellect, and they are just slightly less smart than humans, or so we believe. Really the bear vs human argument just stands in the cases of baby, rookie, and the weakest champion digimon with low intellect, and even in the last category, sukamon is weak as hell, but, do to the "material" that makes it's body, is kind of a slime like monster, it can be tear apart until is just junk all over the place, but, it will put together itself as soon as the danger leaves. The rest of this topic is just researching about the mon's you want to beat eachs other to dead, and read their profiles in their equivalent enciclopedia, and also analyze their design to see what features can also be efficient in battle, even if they are gloss over (for example, agumon's bite force is probably atrocious taking in count that it's a freaking T-Rex, maybe smaller that the one of the big T, because he is also smaller, but, still probably a big ouch if the orange boy decides that peace was never an option), the body and how can they use it is one of the most important parts when analyzing fighting skill.

Pokémon definitely have higher intelligence than a dog, including wild Pokémon. We've seen multiple times in the manga and anime, that Pokémon can still battle and fight others regardless of their trainer's command, and all are completely capable of having sapient thought and speech when talking to others. Hell Pokémon are still capable of human speech, they just need to work their ass off for it. It's not a matter of intelligence whether a Pokémon has a trainer or not, it's a matter of whether they are truly skilled with their abilities. Without trainers, there's a lot of things Pokémon wouldn't be able to do by themselves, not because Pokémon are stupid, but because they don't have the resources like humans do to see what kind of moves a Pokémon can learn from TMs or be tutored to learn, or what kind of abilities would work in the best scenario, or which item would be best with which Pokémon, etc etc

Yeah. It's incremental vs exponential. Pokémon could keep up for maybe the first Digimon evolution, but once they hit Ultimate, you'd need to pull out Pokémon's best to keep up. The furthest any Pokémon would get is low Mega if we're being realistic.

It's hard to see even Rookie vs Basic as a draw because of the special outliers in Digimon at Rookie level such as Lucemon and Arkadimon, with Lucemon specifically being stated to surpass Ultimate level Digimon, and in Frontier commanding two Royal Knights which are Mega level. Plus if you take his move Grand Cross literally, he throws an entire solar system, which that attack itself blew back KaiserGreymon and MagnaGarurumon, and finish off weakened LordKnightmon and Dynasmon, all of which are Megas.

To add onto Lucemon, lore-wise he is meant to be the incarnation of Pride and one of several demon lords, all of which have strength on par or beyond that of a Royal Knight (which is shown in Frontier, where he not only essentially brainwashed two of them but then proceeded to kill and feast on them). On top of that, demon lords paradoxically cannot be truly destroyed so long as there is one human or digimon who holds the sin they represent in their heart, and when they are killed their next incarnation will be stronger than their last iteration, with their personality and memories more than likely overtaking the digimon they were previously.

For example, the Omnimon that comes out of Tai Wargreymon and Matt (Or Yamato) Metal Garurumon jogress, isn't at the same level as the Royal Knight Omnimon. Same goes to Takato Dukemon (or Galantmon), or Davis Veemon with the destiny armor, etc etc... The two that appear in frontier might be the same species as the Royal Knights, but they aren't in the same level of power.

Interestingly enough the relationship between Humans and Digimon is also far more of a two way thing than the one between humans and pokemon. Aside from commands a trainer doesn't directly contribute much from items and sometimes provided the power for mega evo. With humans and digimon the relationship is so complex that they have mutilple types of relationships from tamers, to partners, to whatever you want to call the survive version of partners as..... its not always for the better mind you dark evolutions are a thing and humans being able to contribute directly to a digimons power means can just as easily be exploited by evil digimon.

Especially when you consider that Alphamon (and Omegamon) have "inForce" abilities, with the Alpha-inforce essentially letting Alphamon (from what I understand) rewind/replay time to land more blows then what you would actually see hit and the Omega-inforce letting it more or less see perfectly into the future (with only Diaboromon X being unpredictable), and then there is the Ulforce that UlforceVeedramon (you'd think it would be what PM Imperialdramon would have based off what it does but nope (apparantly) it is UlforceVeedramon) has which is more or less just superhuman healing at a rate that even literal un-avoidable death cannot keep up with. And ignoring those, they are still very physically formidable opponents that would likely be able to body even something like Destroyah, (the small) Clover, etc.

Maybe he can shoot bigger fire from his mouth and maybe that little metal on his tail head tip can perform a more deadlier Whiplash because it's a lot harder than flesh? Then a metal arm that shoots out its claw on a cable that could just be cut like how Android 16 can shoot out his fist at opponents like Cell. Metalgreymon is not that much different. Sure he's an ultimate level or a perfect level but he's not offering much compared to the difference between him and wargreymon.

Adult Level Digimon create natural disasters just by partially manifesting in the human world and are stated to be able to destroy skyscrappers that can take serious earthquakes in a single hit. This honestly lines up pretty well with how I've explained the power difference to a friend of mine that was interested. Rookie level Digimon and basic stage Pokemon are comparable, Champion level Digimon are so much of a jump in power that stage one Pokemon aren't even in the discussion, so Champion level Digimon are more comparable to stage two Pokemon. If you REALLY low ball Ultimate level Digimon, and REALLY high ball mega evolution and legendary Pokemon they could be argued to be comparable, however that does feel like copium at that point, following that, no amount of copium can really put any Pokemon on the level of Mega level Digimon however, and that's not even counting anything beyond a normal Mega level Digimon.

Not everything but a lot. Something I like about digimon is that for all the edge factor, many digimon even at a high level are perfectly friendly and non-aggressive. Andromon is a mega level and only attacks when manipulated into doing so. Saberleomon or bancholeomon (all the bancho digimon really) are on your side if you aren't evil. Digimon is frequently implied and sometimes shown to have entire cities, so there are definitely some safe enough places in the digital world.

Good video and yes, this makes a lot of sense. Here’s one other thing; most Digimon are sentient. All Pokémon can understand commands but, unlike real life animals, almost all Digimon are more like people. Makes sense why there are stages like baby, Child and adult in the Japanese classifications. They are less pets or attack animals and more like friends who fight alongside you with the key to digivolution often being emotional connections. That may be why Digimon had two seasons of humans fighting alongside Digimon and even becoming them. Death Battle conveyed that pretty well with how, during the fight when Red is distracted, Charizard didn’t know how to respond.

The difference also extends to the circumstances of the partnership. In Pokémon, you could literally just go to a game corner and pick up a Pokémon. It’s very much a pet/animal husbandry situation. In Digimon though, most of the time, Digimon and humans are only partnered because the barrier between the worlds has been breached in some way, making it more situational and not the norm. Heck, whilst people are mixed on it, Survive showed that whilst Digimon can be compelled to accept the role of a partner to a human, that does not mean that they have to follow it.

The fifth anime was really weird because a human just punched it. And maybe a human could destroy her, but you’d have to go the server outside the Digital World or however the fuck X-Evolution worked, and crash her from the outside. This would require a bunch of stupid bullshit, which only, like, maybe Xross Wars Millenniumon could do. Older lore places the Digital World’s creation at 1945, though- generally an arbitrary Digimon could defeat an arbitrary Pokémon, but Celebi, Arceus, Dialga, and Palkia could take them all out. But the latter three can probably take any given Pokémon out anyways, so at that point it gets weird.

I would go as far as to say most of the issue between the fandoms would not be as bad if it weren't for specifically Pokemon fans trying to call Digimon a clone, and over the years have actively tried to spread misinformation. That said, admittedly I never quite got the "Pokemon has better games" bit, not nowadays. I never knew exactly what Digimon games were being compared to Pokemon's and as of recently you have all these Pokemon games coming out broken in some way, but are more familiar and more plentiful. I'd say Pokemon games are more consistent at the very least.

The idea of a battle between Digimon and Pokémon sounds interesting, if you don't have in mind the insane powers and abilities that Digimon posses. Like Digimon in the Perfect Level are capable to cause disasters equal to atomic weaponry, or in Lucemon's cases is giving serious problems to Ultimate Level Digimon of the Ancient Era - Which Ultimate Level in that Era are almost myth compared to Perfect -. Although some Digimon come to my mind when it comes to God or Ultimate Level (Mega in Localization) that are even related. Alphamon, Ouryumon and Death-X-mon are those who came to my mind. Victory Greymon (and Z'd Garurumon to) are mentioned to be made to stop Yggdrasil if they run out of control... in the Next Manga, nowhere else. Omegamon X-Antibody defeated Yggdrasil, in body that they can't do anything (the Core) and in the Chronicles manga (which happens in the 'core' universe of the franchise) Omegamon X-Antibody's All Delete is useless against intangible beings, the entity on question is Death-X-mon, who is intangible and is hardly classified as a Digimon because is death. But Death-X-mon was defeated by Alphamon: Ouryuken because the Ouryuken is capable to kill both corporeal and intangible, and Alphamon posses Alpha InForce, an ability that is capable to manipulate time and space in Alphamom's favor, and Ouryuken was made with the idea of surpassing the normal conventions of Ultimate Level like his family brother DORUmon. The Prototype Digimon are insanely powerful, and currently we know less of Loogamon who is also a Prototype.

Well, I am not sure about the Megakabuterimon feat, because we don't know precisely the size of the pocket dimension, and one could argue that Vademon(the creator of the dimension) being killed in the planet's destruction is what made the entire place fall apart. That said, there is something that I found quite remarkable; during the fight with Etemon Chaos we see him destroying things in a very strange way, as if his attacks were distorting time and space, and if memory serves, someone during that scene said something like "at this rate the entire world will turn into a mess". And we know that a fresh evolved MetalGreymon parried one of the attacks and soloed Etemon Chaos.

That’s to be expected. After champion that power creep becomes obvious. The sheer size and lack of biological components gives the Digimon an advantage in this field. This is not even a debate it a one sided slaughter towards pokemon. Arceus can't fight half the ULTIMATE lvl so what it gonna do against the MEGAs much less the ULTRAs. I like pokemon but Digimon as an absurd power scaling that may or not equal to toon powers or DC/Marvel.

The main difference between pokemon and digimon is that, generally speaking: In Pokemon, it is in the confines of the pokedex where we are told the lengths of the pokemon's power. In Digimon, we get to SEE the full extent of their power.

It could go either way for either side, and either side can have lore statements contradicted with what is shown. Digimon just gets away with it more because they do tend to have higher stakes, and there are fewer major instances of contradictions (Either with feats that support lore or just nothing shown that challenges or support the lore directly) that can't be brushed aside as just hyperbole. Obviously, Greymon can't turn every creature "into ash". Meanwhile, Magcargo's body temperature is around 18 thousand degrees Celceus and water evaporates on contact, yet is still weak to water attacks, can be held, and isn't some sort of environmental calamity whever it goes.

Another feat for the Digimon side is UlforceVeedramon possessing the 'Ulforce' which allows him to regenerate himself faster than he can be deleted, so technically even if he were to suffer Omegamon X's All Delete, him possessing the Ulforce allows him to regenerate and persists on making him nigh unkillable. Then you have Alphamon's Inforce, which allows him to instantly simulate every single scenario in a fight and choose the most optimal path to victory. And then Omegamon and Omegamon X has the Omega force allowing him to read the future to predict their opponents moves.

The problem with this matchup is the same problem that putting a franchise say My Hero Academia, RWBY or Avatar:The Last Airbender against other franchises. They will most likely can washed simply because their power scaling isn't that big. All Might may be able to break a mountain but Naruto can break parts of the moon, the Avatar might be able to bend part of a continent but Goku can shatter planets by simply existing. Their universes are more grounded to reality compared to most other franchises. Pokémon to a degree is the same, excluding legendaries, mythical and somewhat Legendary Pokémon, most are just animals with superpowers. Like no Gengar is threatening someone like Ben 10 nor does Charizard stand a chance against Red Dragons from DnD. Digimon has scaling closer to DBZ than Pokémon, plus despite being similar they are very different franchises. So idk why people think Pokémon must be overpowered to be the "better franchise" then Digimon and I don't get why some people think Digimon is cooler because they can bend reality by moving a bit too hard. At the end of the day, what matters is honestly not the scaling of the power within a universe but their stories. After all, whether is it a movie, a book or a video game. Story is always what draws people's interest to the respective universes, although some might only enjoy the action, the storytelling is still one of the most important thing in media.

theres also the 7 demon lords who like yggdrasil exist in a near infinite amount of paralel universes and dimensions simultaniously. but unlike yggdrasil who is linked with all of its copies at all times the demon lords have their powers split between multiple bodies and cant access them unless one of their copies dies distributing its power between the rest. also like yggdrasil they each have their own dimension that they reside in and have full control over along with all digimon that live there. so theres realy no comparing pokemon to digimon when it comes to powerlevels.

To be actual fair he isn't actual far off Alphamon Ouryuken manage to stab the core yet nothing happened. Omegamon X not only fix the verse but he also managed to get rid of all the Death X Digimon Omegamon X likely had control of what he did since Death X digimon were specifically wipe out rather then all Digimon. This is also supported when the DW was about to explode but Omegamon X including Alphamon Essence were enough to keep the entire DW from being destroyed. I do see your argument but considering a specific species were wipe out i believe Omegamon X likely controlled what happened.
