Counter to the only huntable Pokémon before post game: Aerodactal… you can get the mega stone pre mega bracelet even and sure it’s a kinda annoying hunt like the starters but I believe it’s possible

Fun fact if you have a full party he’ll require you to come back later with an open spot in your party so you can just soft reset him giving you the Pokémon to make it easier(kanto starters)

You can actually hunt the kanto starters at first by having a full party I think, but since this is a shiny run it makes sense to not hunt as it would take forever

I love full odd shinyhunting and hunters. When you finally get that shiny you looked for after 20 hours and your brain fills with adrenaline... the best feeling! I completed a shiny run in pokemon y a while ago, at 104 hours. I started with the idea of getting a shiny before every gym but I felt bad because with chain fishing getting a shiny is quite easy so I hunted 9 pokemon in total. Love the video! Keep up the great work!

Just an add on, trick or treat doesn’t change a Pokémon’s type, it just adds the ghost type onto it, similar thing with forests curse, though all other type changing moves do

I read this on a different persons shinylocke, but if you have a full party when selecting the kanto starter and when he asks you to send a Pokémon to storage say no, he’ll hang on to the Pokémon until you ask him again. That way you can soft reset much faster since you don’t have to redo the battle everytime

With the Sycamore gift, you can challenge him with a full party, forcing you to go back to the PC and depositing one to pick it up. It's not one that automatically goes to the box. And since it was a shiny run, non-shinies wouldn't count as part of your run. So it cuts the reset time back by a lot. For the future if you ever wanted to do that.

I found out if you just had a full team when you meet the professor and battle him he offers you the a Kanto starter you decline and go get rid of your excess team and then save in front of him. You can just repeat talking to him for a pokemon until it's a shiny.
