This game is actually so underrated I wonder why game freak hasn't made another game like this like i guess sword and sheild come close but by a very far margin this game actually has like 4x the content of sword and shield lol I'm actually gona watch this whole thing but its gona take a few days of 3 hour intervals

The reason is this wasn't made by Game Freak, it was Genius Sonority

gamefreak and genius sonority had a fallout. the reason is because gs wasn’t recieving any big projects from gf/nintendo anymore. they probably want people to forget about the series because of whatever argument they had with gs, even that their 3d games are supreme over every angle (by that i mean gs).

GF/PC/Nintendo probably want people to forget about Colosseum and XD because they are no longer working with GS, and because GS's 3D Pokemon games are better than the other 3D Pokemon games.

@@FuckKZbinAndGoogle Thats just a playground rumour lol there was not a falling out they still have genius sonority on board, albeit a fraction of what they used to do. They make the 3ds and more recently mobile pokemon shovelware like shuffle and cafe mix because the team is not even close to the size it used to be, and even some of the previous staff have been integrated into the main team to work on the newer main series games. Though I don't know if they care that XD is better, people will still eat up whatever pokemon comes out with regardless of quality

Speed running Orre Colosseum is impressive itself. I had to trade an IV bred and EV trained team from emerald to win

true true, but keep in mind that the run only requires you to do the first set of orre. This means, you can select your pokemon specifically for those few fights which makes it a lot more managable without maximized stats. Also, selfdestruct snorlax is a thing, lol. Also, while good, their IVs are not perfect (iirc it's 23 across the board).

Great run, once for my cassual i did only pokeball snaggs. Took me less then 10 to catch Lugia, got really lucky, was a hard thing to pull off without using ultra ball or master ball. I also like to use shroomish, access to Spor and Stun Spore, plus Falseswipe. Then after it gets spore i let it evolve, a big grind.

Reminds me of when I did a "Bad mons" run. Nosepass, Flareon, Camerupt, Ariados, Electrode, and Claydol (because I needed at least SOME backbone.) I kept failing against Greevil and had to snag each of his mons one at a time per battle. ^^;

Wait at 11:40:41, why did you make a swap that made the flow bonus from your purify chamber worse than it was without making the swap? The Butterfree and Pineco swap made your chamber 5 have 2 flying types. It took it from 9 perfect chambers down to just having 8.

I've done Greevil without shadow pokemon, and catch all of his pokemons in one try Imagine how painful it was XD

oh yes, this fight is so much harder withouth shadow pokes. To be honest, the entire endgame is much easier when you use shadow pokes (swellow + starmie/electabuzz is SUCH a strong combination with swellow setting up shadow sky and then spamming boosted shadow breaks and storms with both pokes - swellow can use shadow half as a "pseudo" shadow storm as well ... its a treat :3)

How does your IV Calclator automatically work? You started the game and knew what IVs your Evee had

The menuing at the very beginning was to determine the RNG, and to cycle it if it was unfavorable. The Eevee was manipulated to have those IVs and that nature.

So what exactly is happening at the beginning? I get that it's a manip of some kind but what is it for and what are you looking for specifically to get said thing you want? Because it seemed like you saw a set of pokemon that you wanted which affected something else. I've tried looking further into this but there aren't any explanations out there to find. All speedrun related guides act as if you already know what these manips are.

Seems fine to me at 480p and 360p, avoid the lower quality options if you can.

well it may be 4 years later, but i'm learning this and was wondering if HP Fire is harder to manip than the HP Psychic with the same parameters? I've gone something like 30k rerolls without a single eevee but when going for HP psychic for any% I get one on average within 4-5k rerolls. Am I just getting stupid unlucky?

Since HP type goes hand-in-hand with IVs (even or odd), you may need to adjust your IV range a bit to find the same amount of results. It will be more difficult anyway, since iirc you want only 70 BP for Psychic, whereas you could take 67-70 with Fire.

@ryguyryziken2541 knowing I can take 67-70 is very helpful! I worked out that you just can't actually have HP Fire 70 with a 31 sp.atk IV, so I just searched for 30 IV fire 70 and ended up find :) thank you

I'd have thought one hit kill moves would be more valid in the speedrun due to the call command being a free call accuracy

It's still inconsistent unless you spend a long time building up accuracy, at which point it's just too slow.

this is a remnant of charcoal being buyable for an unreasonably high price (9800 bucks) in gen 2 for some reason. They never changed the item value afterwards.

How is this called a 100% speedrun, when you dont do the entire Orre colosseum, including fighting the named characters from the game, getting the titles, and the corresponding emails? Thats literally the hardest and final challenge in the game and you skipped it.

He'd have to EV train a full team to do that. The farming necessary to get there would be unviable.

​@LI0NS0N so it's not an actual 100% speedrun. You cant claim 100% speedrun and then proceed to leave out stuff because it's too hard or time consuming. That defeats the whole purpose of a 100% speedrun. Imagine if every 100% category speedrunner did that. Wack.
