I need to know what was going on in Aditya mind at 1:00:32? In what world do you not click astral Barrage and Fake out? The most his opponent could have done was try double protect or switch. But instead of taking a knockout or some damage on the switch in they click a fairy move on a fire type that wasn't going to restore much health? Even if another pokemon switches in the damage from Astral Barrage is just better then risking not Ko'ing and being taken out instead.

Dude I was thinking the same thing. It feels like a greedy play thinking, "oh if he switches I get more health or if he doesnt this thing dies and I maybe outlive thunderclap." A) Caly ice is max health and fire type B) Thunder clap is bp 70 plus stab. It just feels like a throw honestly

@@Sethafella yeah it was a huge throw. Checking the teams shows that the opponent didn't really have a good switch in either that wouldn't get KO'd from Astral Barrage or lose most of their HP. The draining kiss was really too greedy of a play.

@@AcVinicious Nah, not really. Ice was just as prepped for and consistently made top 8, same with Terapagos and Zamazenta. I think nobody was entirely sure how to pilot it. It’s a Pokémon you have to play well on a meta full of wide guard and dark types, so you need good support Pokémon for it and good play to protect it.

Nope it's Joseph ugarte in 4th match, he lost 1st and 3rd match due to sheer luck, in 1st match opponent got double protect which cost him the game, in 3rd match he got crit by -4 pokemon which normally shouldn't have done half of your health, but due to crit it did 100% of your health, the funny thing is that mon didn't crit in any other turn, if the crit was 1 turn early or late the game would have been different.

Nah, its the same comp; but there are some tweaks that makes it play vastly different. ie: Clefairy doesnt have _After you_ for Trick Room Protection, instead it has Heal Pulse to prolong/extend 2HKOs into 3HKOs and so on and so forth Incineroar is also changed to have the Triple Dark moves instead of having Will-O Wisp Calyrex also has Draining Kiss + Fairy Tera I'd say Montana re-adjusted the Trick Room answer through Incin Taunt, and allowed Clefairy/Calyrex to synergize more towards survivability; since now Clefairy can focus on its job more as a Cleric/Damage Reduction rather than balancing both damage reduction + trick room answer While Wolfey's S-Calyrex team focuses more towards brute force on S-Calyrex's Barrage through Nasty Plot, utilizing Clefairy as a primary redirect.

@@duellegend71 During my rounds with it, about 200 or so matches; it was strong, albeit pre - Indianapolis everyone was hyper tuned to counter Caly Shadow so it wasn't as "good" as it seemed to people. Wolfey's team also has a bunch more techs hidden with it that I was only discovering the more I played with it

Sing gives the option of the partner going for protect, then Clefairy going for sing to have a chance to neutralize a very threatening pokemon. This makes clefairy a potential threat that you can't just ignore. With only After You, clefairy doesnt exert any pressure alone, and it demands the partner to clean up the board or the most threatening opposing pokemon, which it can't in some board states. Basically, it just opens up a set of mind game options that the opponent has to consider.

Because it's highly telegraphed and ultimately wastes a turn on your partner's side of the field. Yes it allows you to move first, but with wide guard protection and the likes, you're basically a sitting duck as some stated. Montana's Clefairy opted for Heal Pulse to increase survivability for their party, and on top of that, he pivoted his Trick Room answer towards Incineroar having Taunt instead. With Rillaboom being a side piece to go for a Fake out against double trick room setter leads, decreasing the gambling. I've played about 200 rounds with Wolfey's team, Clefairy's Trick Room check can easily be worked around mostly in a bo3 situation. It's better to have proper answers when you're under TR rather than over-relying on one Pokemon to do all the heavy lifting.
