The turn where Rajan started to correctly call the Thunderclap in the 1v1 situation was a 50/50 I think and Rajan got the read. Was one of the craziest G1's I've ever witnessed.

I understand Justin going for the protect at 18:52 as it's the best move if Rajan goes for the moonblast, since getting enough protects in a row could lead to Whimsicott losing speed control from tailwind, but isn't Rajan's encore that got protected really risky? If Justin picked a move with neutral priority like thunderbolt, encore would fail and Rajan would die from struggle, no? I'm kinda lost on why he chose that last encore

Please Pokémon bring back Pokémon TV. You can add ads to it and we the true fans would watch Pokémon TV. You can even add a paid subscription to get rid of ads. Just please bring back Pokémon TV you’re making it impossible for us the fans to watch Pokémon, 99% of us can’t afford what Amazon is doing with having us the viewers to have to pay for another subscription just to watch Pokémon. So please bring back Pokémon TV just add some ads and add a paid subscription for the ones that don’t like ads for them to be able to watch it without ads or add all Pokémon episodes to either KZbin or one of the other streaming services or all of them or just bring back Pokémon TV. Prankster encore has +1 priority, if he clicked thunderbolt which has no priority he would've been encored first and forced to use thunderclap due to encore instead. Protect has +6 priority which allows him to use it before encore and be locked into that. Being locked into thunderclap has no chance of winning, while being locked into protect has some chances.

Thunderclap is a priority move that can only hit if the target attacks like Sucker Punch. So if Whimsicott used moonblast Raging Bolt would KO first.

Thunderclap has a priority of +1. If Thunderclap's target has selected a physical or special attack and has not yet had a chance to execute its move, Thunderclap will damage the target; otherwise, Thunderclap will fail. Thunderclap only depends on the move the target has selected, and is not affected by any consideration of whether the attack can actually be executed, such as status conditions like sleep or freeze or Abilities like Truant.

ThunderClap works like Sucker Punch in that it hits with +1 priority if the opponent chooses an attacking move, it fails to hit at all if the opponent uses an status move
