So, basically, it's 1% of the win. Seems very reasonable. I would suggest doubling that on a suckout river card. 🤣

@@JohnAsaro-by3od The win portion is only $500, so a $6 tip is still 1.2% of the win. Reasonable, in my opinion.

As a dealer now, I’m more concerned about getting the game to run smoothly than the amount of tips that I am collecting. If I get sat at a table where the tips aren’t good it’s not much of a concern to me because the next table could be better.

Jnandez and PLOProfessor also focus on PLO. There are several places in Vegas you could work as on call and just tell them to take you off the schedule a couple weeks here or there. Not Orleans tho I don't think.

Has dealing had any impact on your desire to play poker? Would adding a few hours of dealing each week into your schedule significantly mitigate your need to play for the comps and perks for sustenance?

Interesting question regarding tips. If I take down just the blinds, it's $1. If I take down a $1,000 pot, it's a $1. I have never thought of a tip as a way to share my winnings, I have thought of it as a way to supplement the dealers hourly, if that makes any sense. I don't play the big games, so I am speaking strictly for 1/2 and 1/3
@VegasPokerNomad

I tip more in bigger pots because it was more important for the dealer to be mistake-free in the bigger pots.

As a dealer, March Madness (week 1) was always my most profitable week of the whole year to deal cash. But I always wished I was playing because the games were so crazy good.

If a dealer deals in slow motion, the functional thing to do is report the conduct to the floor. The floor should then monitor play for a brief period. The dealer would get the message in short order. Do not tolerate dealers's aberrant conduct. Report it. By doing so you will not only improve the experience for others immediately but you will help the culture and experience for others over the long term.

Can still deal a couple days a week year round. I’ve never been denied time off (outside of busy season, wsop ect) and if you deal can certainly do longer term Air BnB or actually rent a room for a long pweiod

Long time dealer. You're answering these questions like you've been dealing 15 years 👍 Yes, tipping is subjective and likely how it should be. Some don't tip, some tip very well, most in the middle somewhere...it all averages out. The newer dealers I think get the most annoyed at the stiffing, I have accepted it for a long time, does not bother me, just go to the next hand and be professional. You do that, sometimes that non-tipper recognizes good services and surprises you. I had that happen many times. DO NOT make faces, purposely go slower, short deal, make comments. It will just hurt you and make the ones that tip want to NOT tip. Second, since tipping is subjective, it's a difficult question to answer...what's an acceptable tip on a $100, $200, or $1000 pot. I would say an "expected" tip, in which I try to expect nothing, Nomad's answers are on the money. a $1, $1-$2, $1-5 respectfully. For someone a bit more generous, can double those numbers. For "George's" or big tippers it can be many times those numbers. That's why, one should not let the stiffs bum you out. One should think of the averages. In terms of the question, does dealing make one a better player? I would say dealers have a rep of being notoriously bad players. Because generally they play too many hands. Having said that, always exceptions and some are very good players. Two pro's off the top of my head that used to be dealers, Mike Matasow and Layne Flack, used to be dealers. Anyway, enjoying the channel and thanks for showing a side that isn't covered very much by poker channels, the dealer. 😁

Nobody wants to be on a work schedule. Everybody wants the freedom to set their own schedule and go travel when they want, 90 percent of me says you are the American dream living a free life on your own terms and the other 10 percent cant help but wonder if you have planned far enough ahead. Anyway love the vlogs and the lifestyle.

Inherent to the intrigue of this channel. We're watching and waiting to see how things evolve. A bright young man putting his freewill to work and turning his back on a profession in law. Credit to him for surmising that pitfalls typical of a "good job" or not for him. This basis will give him strength during inevitable challenges.

The breakfast hero with sausage. (Not the premade breakfast sandwiches near the register.) But you have a small window. You need to wait for the ingredients to be delivered in the morning, then it sells out quickly. It needs to be between 6:00am and 8:30am.

I have. I don't like to. I don't like checking in early and late. It doesn't feel fair. I very often arrive early. So I very rarely stay late. I'd like the room to get turned over quickly and the next guess can have the room early if the next guest arrives earlier than expected.

It actually averages out a lot of the early arrivals get the rooms of the early checkouts and the late arrivals get the late rooms they are cleaning rooms all day and can't clean them all at the same time .. thinking getting a. Couple hours extra of sleep is gonna affect another person's checking is just not rational thinking more folks checkout early and on time than Kate check outs the maids can only clean so fast

And people with a limited bankroll who are a few hundred dollars from living in their cars or the LV tunnels generally don't tip either. Gotta consider circumstances. Late on chuld support, need car repairs, etc.

I do see people who are dealers tip very generously. Some tip $5/hand minimum. I appreciate the large tips on smaller pots. But I'd have no problem with someone tipping "appropriately" instead of generously. I will add, there are a couple things I didn't realize really help the game that I never tipped for and I will in the future. I'll be specific in a future video.
@cpataxpro

Wow. That surprises me. I tip $1 min. per pot won. I think any good poker player should want the dealer on their side: protect their hands, gentle reminders on action, helpful hints on house rules, friendly chat during dead spots, etc. Oh, and a dealer pushes me a $1k pot in $1-3??? They get a $25 tip unless they have been jerks at some point. The poker gods are watching.
