What is YOUR best low stakes cash game tip for 2025? 📈

i was playing in a 1-2 live game 500$ effective. straddle on the button to 5$ SB limps, me in middle position raises to 20$ with Kh Kd, button calls, SB calls. flop coms Ts,9c, 2h. Sb checks to me, I raise to 20$, button folds, SB raises to 100$. against a loose passive player should I pretty much always fold here? I know I should just mostly call which I did in game and on the turn came the 8c, actions went check, check. Ad on the river and again went check check. he showed two pair with T9o. do you think I could have played this differently?

Larger bet sizes for value on all post-flop streets. Loose passive players who hate to fold are abundant at smaller stakes. For instance, I have made several pot-sized value bets on the turn, and players on a typical flush draw will call.

I think one of my common mistakes is precisely the last thing you mentioned, not knowing how to fold to the third barrel when I have a fairly strong hand. I usually think that having his range capped, my call should be profitable on the river, but apparently, not everything is black or white, I have to evaluate if the type of rival would be capable of bluffing 3 streets and how the board is composed to see if there really are bluffs. Thanks for the video!

I'm doing well with the first 2 points, I need to work on Hero Calling the river less often, since I'm over bluffing a little bit versus regulars, I believe they would do the same against me, but they are probably not doing that

How do you play against 1) a 5x BB raise with 2-3 callers? And 2) I raise 4-5x and get 3 callers? Im struggling a ton with this in my local 1/3 game...and a lot of the time if I call or reraise (in the first scenario) I miss the flop and face aggression, basically forcing me to fold or (in the second scenario) I miss the flop and face a donk bet and call in a multi-way pot.

The problem i generally face in these small weak games is the lack of knowledge for the other players to actually fold a hand they should be folding. I still lean towards a more exploitive strategy over gto especially given this experience. If players are too sticky to fold a mediocre or down right bad hand, these charts of what they 'should' do means very little

These are the easiest players to play. The biggest profits. It’s just boring poker. You want to feel like you’re in there mixing it up.

they really fold k7s to flop CR on 864 - surely not with bdfd... seems surprising - seems surprising we are folding some pair with 2 pr out... verrrrry snug

Slightly inaccurate info at one point in the video; recreational players do in fact bluff, and quite often if you give them rope. Bet check bet is one of the most overbluffed lines by recs. Bluff catching is profitable when they have a wide range. Overfold when they re-raise or use pot or bigger. That is way underbluffed.

Thanks for the comment, I agree with you. I do sometimes bet check bet but only against recreational players and if the board is fine to do so.. I am not recreational btw 😊

He never said they don’t bluff. He said they don’t bluff anywhere near as often as they’re supposed to, which is true. He is also correct that the right exploit for playing opponents with this non-optimal bluff frequency is to never bluff catch.

At low stakes there's never a whole lot of balanced players, most players either never bluff or they bluff way too much

@@yodathecloverholder69 That’s not true. Recreational players overbluff. They underbluff when faced with aggression. My comment explains all of this

Just a bit of a sidenote for #1: In some places they have a "no flop no drop" rule, which basically means, if the hand is done before the flop, then no rake is taken. In these games you MUST 3bet at a much higher frequency. Taking down a rake free pot is massive.

A bit confused because you said we rarely can lead when out of position, but you lead on the turn on the J9h hand. So some clarification is in order.
@bofran9558
@bofran9558 15 күн бұрын
Once you check raise the flop, you can lead the turn to deny equity/ let the oppo fold his hand because you are representing a strong range. So you are betting turn either with nuts or draws to win the hand very often especially if the turn card is good for your perceived range. Sorry for the English

#1 blunder you see at low stakes? Putting in money pre-flop, because you're in a multi-way pot & your call closes the action pre: absolutely a cash incineration proposition if you're out of position & are forced to check-fold the overwhelming majority of flops. Just don't open your range in that spot, folding is all right lol.

Look at this Jonathan Little clown out here 3-betting all these garbage hands. You should only 3-bet AA, KK, QQ and sometimes AK suited.
