@@Amphanotes I appreciated them and had fun. I definitely prefer them to the 4th gen remakes, but they didn't hit a homerun like the gen 2 remakes. I love all of the quality of life changes, and the benefits of pulling in moves and types and mons introduced since the originals. yeah it was super easy... but it's hard to tell how much of that is that I was in college and no longer a small child. I do think that they went a bit hand holdy with telling the player what to do next, because in all earlier pokemon games that's a big part of what contributed to the sense of adventure the games inspire. it's funny, I'm in the video game industry now. I make games. It's nice to see what inspired me to pursue this career :)

I've been around since the start of the Pokemon games, and have played each and every one, give or take a couple of the remakes of some of the regions such as in HeartGold/SoulSilver and FireRed/LeafGreen. Since then I agree. Nothing beats the nostalgia of Kanto of course, or the refreshing new start of Unova, but Hoenn had beautiful pokemon, music with personality, and interesting geography. Sootopolis City was my favorite area due to its placement on the map.
