It's worst when there's side pot action. The players still to act often think just because a player is all in means it's ok to talk about their hands, not realizing they could say something that could impact that players odds.

the last hand with brad booth and phil ivey, when benyamine was talking about the extra value from the 300k cash was about ivey having extra value by not having to declare the cash at the cage for tax purposes. i think gabe knew that and was covering for benyamine's indiscretion on tv. benyamine's comment certainly wasn't about ivey's safety.

@@pelomocho8567 it’s just a very nasty flop for his kings. Flush / straight options - and booth called his 14k re-raise - so easy to put him on a pair or suited connectors - for which this flop was great, both for sets / straights / flush draws.

Hilariously maybe, but over indexing on GTO and other modern analysis is also foolish. Where real poker happens between human beings is somewhere in the middle -- fundamental game strategy, and awareness of GTO concepts. In other words, what Gabe Kaplan says is no less interesting today, nor is it incorrect

May that was a new session and Ivey did not have enough information, like calling there need’s information like how that session is going what type of player Brad is, how often is he bluffing there and how often he actually has the goods. Without any of the above information, Kings could be beat there, and if Kings are beat there and Ivey calls that is bad call as Ivey would be almost dead. 19:01

11:46, personally I think a nice bet sizing from Esfandiari would be $130k - $132k ... it doesn't look too bluffy at all, rather it looks more like a value bet. An all-in would look a little too suspicious and Benyamine with two-pair would be sitting there with a great bluff-catcher against something like AKo/AQo. Just my thoughts. Obviously I don't have several million dollars and will never be one of the poker greats, but I would've played it that way and if I was wrong then tough luck/bad timing (not necessarily bad play).

He was on my left at $2k NLHE WSOP event in 2006 (around the time of this taping). I think he was high. I had no idea who he was, but grateful to make flushes twice and he paid me off both times. It was my first table at my first WSOP and I am so happy I didn't see this before.

Ehh it may not have been the correct play but there's not much incentive to call there because if you're Phil, you have only a small amount of money invested and you're calling off your entire stack. Even with KK, it's generally not worth it. Just a good play from the other guy, would be an even better call from Phil though. Opponent could have had AA or a set

AA was the hand Ivey put him on. But for some reason, there IS the possibility of a straight, so Yukon can rep those kind of hands like AA and sets (although highly unlikely a good player takes this route with the over shove on flop) and straights. Looking back, Ivey probably makes the call considering how insane the shove was. Only the worst of the worst players shove there.

Daniel and Mike ( I think those were two of them, in the hand) were talking about the hand, while there was still a third person in the hand...and that third person was still left to act... after Daniel. That's bad etiquette.

Three players in the hand, any talking among the two who have acted can affect the person yet to acts action. It’s to protect the player who is not in the conversation.
