This thing really turned into a donkument by the final table. A tournament that has great structure at the start almost turns into a turbo tourney by the end due to the endless tanking that leads to far less hands being played in days 5, 6, 7.

DOBric turned table into donk fest , poker play was abandoned
@patrickledonne55477 ай бұрын
Average stack size at start of final table was around 50 BB. That's pretty high for a tournament. The early structure is excellent because the players aren't playing 30 BB effective by level 4-5 like in most tournaments. But the blinds will always catch up with the stacks. As long as they're playing with 100 BB effective plus eliminations will be very low. Players aren't busting except very extreme coolers. AA vs KK preflop or boat over boat, 2nd nut Flush to nut Flush post flop.

Espen could absolutely have some combination of A3, A5, 65, 53, missed hearts, etc. He’s 100% capable of bluffing in that spot. The counter to that is that Espen will usually just flat Adrian’s flop raise in position to realize some equity on the turn while keeping the pot smaller if he has the aforementioned holdings. I could see him taking this line with a combo draw though in an attempt to win without showdown while knowing he has a lot of equity. All of those combo draw type hands miss and could absolutely bluff shove the river. Adrian conversely is usually capped preflop after flatting the open. He almost always doesn’t have any big pairs. He can have some 2x himself. That said as played Adrian does have some better hands to call down with although he blocks no hearts which end as a busted flush draw. The old timers will tell you it’s very hard to make a pair especially heads up. Was it a bad call? Yes. Was it an egregious mistake? Not heads up vs someone capable of having air. Espen is representing an overpair or flopped trips. It’s a very narrow range of value hands and a wide range of semi bluffs.
