Man, I remember when that four 3's took Kenney out early on, absolutely Everyone at the table with him for the rest of the night mentioned it. "Like - Did you really do that???". the pot is split between the two hands, so its possible to chop the pot and not eliminate or be eliminated.

A second set of cards is dealt and the pot is split in half to be rewarded to each set of dealt cards. This creates an opportunity of the pop being split between the players(chopped), if each one wins one of the two sets. It's usually done during all ins by when the player with better odds wants to keep their opponent in the game or at least give them a better chance of doing so.
