One thing that these clips show you is how compressed and uncomfortable the sound design is for more recent events. Whether accidentally or on purpose, that background casino chatter mixed with what sort of sounds like the ambient noise of the casino's HVAC is SO MUCH MORE satisfying! Transition from clip 58 to 57 really illustrates it.

Nah, being a relentless douchebag is not necessary to be interesting. Phil Ivey never says a word and he's one of the best players to watch.
@blankoblanco4 ай бұрын
@@EGarrett01 Phil Ivey is one of the best to watch because of the decades of pedigree, accolades, praise and respect from fellow pros, so that we all know we're watching greatness whenever we watch him play. That's not realistically achievable for other players. For 99.99% of players, being stoic and silent is going to be viewed as boring, and showing personality is the only possible way to be interesting or worth rooting for/against. Most poker players don't care about that and just want to focus fully on the game (which I of course understand) but it makes me appreciate those who try to bring personality to televised poker and streams, even when I don't like the personality much.
@EGarrett014 ай бұрын
@@blankoblanco It depends on how you play also. Tom Dwan wouldn't say much for years when he first showed up on television, but he was the most entertaining player on High Stakes Poker, because his play was extremely sophisticated while also being super-aggressive and putting huge amounts of money in the middle.
