Issue is regular MP just isn't popular streaming-wise. The game needs a BR mode or something like that if it wants to succeed as far as viewership on streaming platforms. Or it needs a legitimate competitive league like COD has or like Siege has had. These types of games aren't super fun to watch because of how repetitive it is watching someone respawn over and over. It's the reason why the only popular shooters on streaming platforms are BRs or tactical shooters, not arena shooters.

@@jadedjacob4176 no it's because arena shooters are garbage to watch. It's legitimately not fun watching someone do the same shit over and over a hundred times in a single match. Its not a coincidence that BRs and tactical shooters are consistently more popular. The reason there's "no arena shooters worth watching" is because that style of shooter is outdated. I mean PUBG managed to be insanely popular viewership-wise and by player count and that game is awful in every way from a technical standpoint. Warzone has been consistently the most popular version of COD since it released both by viewership and player count, and Warzone is just regular COD gameplay copy/pasted onto a bigger map. For the last 6 years since BRs became a thing, the only other form of shooter that's kept up is tactical shooters. It's pretty obvious people enjoy fewer but more intense engagements rather than the constant spawn/kill/die loop. That and people also want deep and engaging mechanics, not just rushing the same lanes and trying to out-aim as many people as possible before you die.

Ngl the developers have done a great job with this so far, you can actually tell they care about the community. A lot of games take ages to release a hint of ranked. As long they keep at it and always follow their community they might surpass cod in the future. It won't kill cod but will give it a good competition which is what we have been dying for.

Only major problem for me is I use L1 to aim and L2 to jump and for some reason when I flip them, the R1 and R2 flip but not L2 and L1. Hopefully they fix that bug. I lose a lot of gun fight not being able to jump and move.

Half the issue with COD at this point is that there's no point in even getting excited because you know they're going to abandon the game within twelve months. And you have to pay full price just to play it. This is obviously a different situation. New IP, so they get some slack because they haven't had the opportunity to refine the gameplay, but the big draw here is the fact that they're taking into account everything people have complained about with COD, preparing features that COD has failed to implement for years, offering it free to play, and committing to long-term support for it. This game will have the opportunity to improve because they're actually going to support it over years. Not abandon it and release a sequel with a different style of gameplay every year. They're not going to have three studios simultaneously playing tug of war pulling the game in three different directions at all times. That's refreshing. No shit people are enjoying this more, there's actual potential here.

All attempts to challenge COD have failed due to brand loyalty (people refuse to abandon COD for whatever weird reason) and at this point these kinds of games aren't nearly as successful as BRs (Apex/Fortnite) or tactical shooters (Valorant/CS) so devs typically don't want to waste their money trying to challenge COD in a market that isn't exactly massive in the first place.
