He mistakes him for his late wife who was a giant.. that is why he thought Kratos would be bigger.. he was thinking giants.. and it just so happens that Kratos is from Greece so it makes sense to everyone involved. and Baldur was able to find them now because Kratos cut down those marked trees to honor his wife's wishes

@@saintsaint3948 The giants aren't from Midgard so that's what he means by that, later on it's why the gods were surprised when he could kill one of them, because it's commonly believed only a god can kill a god. Additionally, Odin has been looking for the way to the giants realm, hence that being Baldur's mission, also I believe it's stated in a commentary from the game designer Cory.

No need for this to get Bloody.” Baldur is invulnerable, He is literally called “The Man Who cannot be Killed” By Mimir. What’s the point of fighting Baldur When he cannot be killed, that’s why Baldur says that, because even if kratos overpowers and “kills” him, he would just come back, hence why Baldur doesn’t resort to violence straight away, because it’s useless (Without Mistletoe) “Huh. When "The stranger" comes to Krato's house he's not looking for Kratos. He was looking for a giant. That's why he says he thought Kratos will be bigger and refers to the giants as the smart kind (In norse mythology giants are extinct but they were known for being enlightened). I’m always watching people reacting to this scene and none of them acknowledge the smaller badass details and how they are literally splitting the earth in a Dagon ball like sequence. So thank you for actually noticing. Also what Baldour meant by his kind is that he thought Kratos was Faye, and thought he was therefore a giant. That’s also why he thought he would be bigger even though not all giants in this realm are the stereotypical giant.

Here’s the meaning behind all of what Baldur says, your welcome Jev. Baldur: “Come on out! Its no use hiding anymore! I know who you are…. More importantly I know WHAT you are.” Baldur says it’s no use hiding anymore because in reality he is right. At this point in time they cannot hide from Baldur anywhere (Because they haven’t met Freya who gives them a spell which “Would hide you from those who attempt to make your Journey Difficult.” The Boy was Present so she didn’t say Gods, but that is who she means, Baldur and The Sons of Thor but back to the trees) because when Faye Died she Asked for The stave around the Woods to be cut down and for them trees to be used as her pyre. So when kratos Chopped down them trees it basically made the spell around their woods dissipate which was a sort of cloaking spell, because after kratos cut down them trees, Baldur found them within a matter of hours, hence why Faye wanted kratos to cut down the trees, and that would start the “journey” and as we find out, Faye marked the path we took (Because She can see into the future) “Just tell me what I want to know! No need for this to get Bloody.” Baldur is invulnerable, He is literally called “The Man Who cannot be Killed” By Mimir. What’s the point of fighting Baldur When he cannot be killed, that’s why Baldur says that, because even if kratos overpowers and “kills” him, he would just come back, hence why Baldur doesn’t resort to violence straight away, because it’s useless (Without Mistletoe) “Huh. I thought you’d be bigger. But your definitely the one. Long way from home aren’t you?” Giants in Norse Mythology Are Big, Tyr is a perfect example, Although Kratos’ Brother Hercules is bigger than Tyr, Tyr still towers over kratos. “but your definitely the one” I cant blame him, If I saw Kratos, I’d think the same. “Long way from home aren’t you?” Baldur is referring to Jotünheim, Land of The Giants, and because Baldur thinks kratos is a giant it’s the only reason as to why he would say that, because he is looking for The Last Guardian AND The Last Giant, Aka Faye, who Baldur didn’t know was already dead. But Kratos obviously thinks Baldur is talking about His home, Greece. And Kratos didn’t know Baldur was after Faye, Kratos only learns that at the end of the game. *”What do you want.”* “Oh, you already know the answer to that.” Baldur wants to find Jotünheim And Odin knows Baldur would do anything to FEEL again, so he convinced Baldur that Jotunheim is his way to being able to feel again, but Odin knowing fully well that is not true, basically uses Baldur to get what he wants, because Baldur would do absolutely anything to feel again which is proven when Baldur says later in the fight “When Odin sent me here… I just needed answers but YOU… you HAD to act all proud. Throw whatever you have at me I’ll keep Comin! that old body will give out, but before I end this *I want you to know one thing… I can’t feel ANY of this!* *“Whatever it is you seek, I do not have it. You should move on.”* “Hahaha. Here I thought your kind were supposed to be so enlightened, so much better than us, so much SmArTeR. And yet you hide out here in the Woods-Like a Coward.” Giants Can see into the future and They Never retaliated for the wrath brought upon them by Odin and Thor, their revenge was to prosper and Rebuild on the new land they found, and They called that land Jotünheim, so yes the giants themselves are more enlightened. Giants are also Naturally more intelligent than The Aesir Gods, for example Atreus is half Giant and he can speak a DEAD language that he heard only a COUPLE of times and did i mention he was 12 years old at the time of that. *”You do not want this fight.”* “Oh, I’m pretty sure i do…” *Big Mistake*
