I’m so glad they changed some of the dialogue, even subtlety. For example In the OG game at 7:40 Beth says “where’s my sister going 😐” like a robot and it sounded terrible. Glad they updated it 😂

I kinda liked how they reworked the prologue. In the original one, Sam wasn't really a major figure in the prank and she immediately tried to find Hannah when she found out about the prank. This was the one thing that I really didn't understand in the original one because it makes her absolved of the entire thing and it's weird that Josh included her in his list when he wanted to get revenge. Her now being a part of the prank in this one thinking it was gonna be a silly/harmless prank just to realize it was a shitty thing to do really made her more human and makes the Josh thing make sense.

i mean sam still wasn't really a part of the prank in the rework, shes clearly still against them doing it, she just does less to try and stop it. but i agree that it makes mote sense in context with josh's motive to target sam as she was supposed to be hannahs best friend but didn't stand up to the rest of the group to protect hannah when she needed it

This is so nostalgic for me I feel like crying remembering the good days. It was how I found Jev. I think it was his 3rd episode of Until Dawn that I started watching and went back to the first couple episodes and couldn't wait for the others to release. That was back when I was 12ish and used to actually get scared by horror game playthroughs. Turned 22 on the 5th of this month and got to preorder Sparking Zero as my present. Now I get to relive the good days of my life and enjoy the nostalgia. I feel good man

The mask jumpscare can be created by using a springloaded mechanism which is triggered by the movement of the handle (you can even hook it up to a motion sensor if you wanted to). As someone who builds halloween animatronics its a pretty simple process actually! Mainly due to only having one movement and not even requiring a looped animation. The difficulty comes moreso with animatronics that have more than one 'movement' or 'motion'

I believe the thing with Sam is that she understood how cruel the prank was, which already sets her apart from the others because, apparently, they thought it was perfectly normal to pull such a cruel prank on someone they considered a friend, but she agreed not to say anything. I believe she made drawings of everyone, and they took Hannah's to use for the prank. So, she agreed to the prank, but when she saw they were actually going through with it, she regretted it and tried to warn Hannah, but it was already too late. So yes, she is at fault because she could have warned Hannah much earlier, but at least she felt remorse, which makes her a little different from the others since they only showed some regret after the whole thing had already happened. I might sound a bit biased because I really like Sam 😅, but that's how I view what happened.

matt's story is pretty underrated imo, its all about him being able to be his own person and not be dangled around by Emily, 45:15 is clear foreshadowing to the choice that decides matt's fate, trying to tell you not to rush to save emily all the time
