Hearing the theory of Ash having his started as Spearow made me remember how in the Electric Tale of Pikachu by Toshihiro Ono, it looks like an alternative version of the show. He still gets pikachu like in show and attacked by a flock of wild Spearow -remember near the end when Ash leaves Pidgeot to defend Pidgey from Fearow? Well in the graphic he still being attacked by the Spearow flock and later a Fearow comes to attack him too, like in show I think Pikachu does a huge thhundershock (bolt?) and instead catches Fearow as his first pokemon instead of Pidgeotto, but he does also one later. I found it interesting. And it also made me happier about the fact even tho he was exhausted he still caught something after Pikachu's thunder attack when the bird pokemon were wounded enough.

Ash getting Charmander makes sense because Professor Oak saved Squirtle for Gary specifically and I'm certain of this because when Ash arrives at the lab, Gary was JUST leaving.

Fun fact: clefairy was originally supposed to be the mascot of pokemon, but the creators chose Pikachu, because there aren't many yellow mascots.

I've been struggling with my story,I think you just helped me out alot,instead of following the anime (was only following the anime cause my memory is shit) but you made me realize,following the anime doesn't matter story wise,but I've been changing my mind constantly though,like I ash's starter to be a female charmander (that I named charcoal) and catches a wild pikachu (that I named sparks) but now I want pikachu to be a shiny making him even more rare and more reason on why team rocket wants him so badly,I hate that my mind keeps changing ideas story wise,now I don't know what I want to do,but I think this helped me give me an idea on what I truly want for my story now
