nice to watch a mechanic doing a service without torquing any bolts to ugga dugga spec

How is it that you removed and reinstalled the cam bolt without removing the valve cover and holding the camshaft in place?

Legend! Thanks for putting that up.

Well now that I've watched this video, I'm confident that I'm a fully qualified machanic, and can start this type of job, then screw it up royally, get it towed into your shop and expect it done cheaper cause I started it and saved you some time, bloody brilliant video Pokey and your somewhat beautiful assistant Saul, and no I don't think the baby will cry, but some serious testing will need to be done, cheers guys from across the straight 👍🏼👍🏼

Good to know you don’t need to take the radiator out. Would it be worth doing the front main seal while your in there?

Great vid mate, question, is it ok to start the engine without the timing belt cover to check for leaks from water pump on completion? Or is that a " no way" thing?

No fucking way haha

You can. Cover is just a cover. Make sure no tools or parts are laying around loose to fall into it tho

Hello, I have questions pertaining to a 1kz-te engine I’m dealing with. Context is I’m from America and in America and have inherited a forunner with a 1kzte engine and have been struggling to find assistance with troubleshooting. Recently the radiator has been going through coolant at a rapid pace and having gray smoke coming from the exhaust, I’ve also found “oil” in the radiator. I put quotation b/c the coolant isn’t milky not any residue on ether the radiator cap or the oil cap, nor have I found any coolant in the oil via dip stick or oil change. A lot of people keep saying head gasket or cylinder head but I’m not having any miss fires or any difficult starting, no problems with acceleration. The smoke from the exhaust isn’t white ether, it’s gray and not bellowing out like I’ve seen in gasket failure videos. Also the smoke is only there when at an idle, it disappears right when reving the engine or accelerating. I’ve begun to look towards the water pump as a culprit of some if not all of these problems but I’m still worried it’s the gaskets or worse the cylinder head. If anyone can give some insight, be it the artist of this video or a viewer, I’d much appreciate it. It’s my late father’s truck and we had been on an amazing trip down the west coast in her before his passing. Also the engine only has 60k miles and is the huilix surf molded.
