Great video Petko. Tonight I found a spider in my room and while I’m still scared of them, the fear is getting smaller the more I watch your videos. I’m now able to remove them safely without panicking which is good. The funny bit is when the spider runs I say “bolty bolty” the same way you do and it makes me happy and keeps me calm lol. 😂

Got an idea for measuring the pokies or generally any tarantula. Take that long catch cup you used for the P regalis and apply a centimeter scale to it using a black marker. Maybe even find a longer cup so they can go full stretch. That way you have a general idea of how big the T is. For terrestrials, just apply the markings to a clear empty box across the full length and put the T in. :)

@@markokemp8244 Oof, I don't know how the shipping regulations are in Sa. Since I don't own any tarantulas (yet), maybe check out the forums at arachnoboards.com Maybe you'll find another keeper from SA there, who can help you better when it comes to accquiring a GBB. If you can find a local breeder on there, all the better and all the cheaper for you.

To make the glue stick better scuff the glass and plexi with some 80 grit sand paper in the spot where the glue will be applied. This will give more surface area for the glue to bond with. And clean the glass well after scuffing.

Interesting as always Petko. :D Thank you!
@pikashroom16 жыл бұрын
A good way to try to improve the adhesion of the Plexiglas hinges and the glass would be to scratch up the surfaces of the parts you're going to glue before you do it with some sandpaper or something similar to increase the amount of surface area and non-slippery material for the glue to grab on to

Get a black marker pen and draw a 1 cm square grid on the outside of the bottom of a clear square or rectangular container. Put the tarantula on the table. Put the container over it. Look straight down and count the squares. Accurate measurement with no risk of escapes.

You need to make a measuring enclosure, like a box with a rolling mat on the bottom like i use in baking, its got measurments on it and you can line the sides of the enclosure with rulers on each side. Then again i know nothing about spiders except what i see here so maybe it wouldn't work? Just a thought.

Petiole, I don’t mean to disparage any other arachnid KZbinrs, but after watching many, you seem to have the best relationships with your pets. You get so few bolts, and so little aggression from your pets. You seem to radiate a genuine calm affection which I think they-even with their tiny nerve ganglia-can sense. Several other KZbinrs are always hopped up on adrenalin and anxiety-type neurotransmitters, and their arachnids are similarly anxious, skittish, and bitey.
