I feel like the second round of the fight becomes extremely hard and maybe it even cheats a bit just so it could make it a three round match

That was not the DX version of the fight because after it came out on the switch Nintendo removed unlockable special counter attacks to all the characters which made shadow mewtew invincible in the second round
