Active duty POL 24 yrs (1991-2015). POL is a job that can convert to many opportunities in the civilian world as well if you choose to not make it a career. Different AF these days, but back in my day, we worked hard and partied harder!!! Great career field IMO.

What are some good questions I should ask about when wanting to become a POL? Please respond.
@pep5906 жыл бұрын
Big Mac 1997 Ask yourself...do you like or mind working outside? Even in very cold or hot weather? Do you like driving trucks? Are you fairly mechanically inclined? Do you like being part of a team? Can you adapt well to long hours at times or late lunches? Do you mind working nights, evenings or weekends as Fuels is a 24 hour operation. Do you like to travel as Fuels personnel are tasked for exercises or deployments to the Middle East. There is great friendship and comradery in POL. I was POL for 18 years. Retired Tech Sergeant

It’s very beneficial even after your service. If I was smart when I got out I would have stayed in the industry. You learn everything. Pipeline. Testing fuel flashpoint. Very lucrative job opportunities once a civilian again. Go ask how much a fuel specialist at a major air port makes. Not to mention you acquire college credits for aeronautical science. Yup. You read that correctly. Look into the job sector under that category. So to answer your question I will have to do so with a question. Do you want free training, good pay, a brother hood, a family like no other, and the possibilities to have a wonderful career after the military? If you answered yes then POL is for you
