Service manual has a simple way to test the stator. At the plug coming off the stator Y1, Y2, Y3 should all measure 0.07 - 0.13 ohms when you measure across Y1-Y2, Y1-Y3, Y2-Y3... If any significant variations one leg may be weak or failed.... Or you can test each leg to ground and their should be an Open Line (OL) on multimeter....

Did you get your sprag bearing yet? I'll have to do the same job. Ordering my Sprag today as well as a new stator cover gasket.

Great, mines on order. The "bolt" that holds the stator flywheel is "Counter clock" to loosen, correct?

Hello, someone referred me to this video. We was riding in our 2016, 1000 s. Driving very slow and out of nowhere a strange noise and just shut down and lost power. First thought it was something electrical, switched the fuses around (sometimes that happened) reset the battery terminals and then got power but no start and no engagement, clutch seems to be locked up, wondering if it could be this? I’m very uneducated any help would be great!

I would say by your text. Does the starter spin? (Make any kind of noise )when you turn the key ? Can you turn the engine over by hand ? Pull the clutch cover off and try and turn the clutch. To see if the motor is free or locked up . Message my back .

It's a one way starter cutch bearing that goes bad. Mine just went out. There should be recalls on this but nope Polaris makes us pay for their stupid.

Hello. I have a 2016 XP 900. How can you tell if it's a clutch bearing or sprag clutch.. everything I read said it's the bearing, but now I see this video so I'm confused.

@@hap9915 Clutch bearing will have a bearing on the inside ring that can be popped out. 2016 XP 900 most likely a clutch bearing. Do you have the front and rear seater with 4 wheel drive?

I have a 2014 xp1000 it ran/started fine. It has set about a month we went to go riding and starter just spins now.
