i thought tyrosine was non-polar?

Tyrosine is considered polar as far as its category for the MCAT. Every amino acid is on a spectrum as far as how polar or hydrophilic it is, and you may have learned it as non-polar given that it's among the less polar of the polar amino acids. Let me know if that helps!
