Instead of setting a phased workout, you can start the interval timer at any time during your run on the watch itself. That way you can have a warmup and cooldown with separate laps for your intervals. It will also show as manual laps in the app. Only problem is that you don’t define how many repeats you want. A feature I use all the time if doing simple intervals

I’ve completely missed this! Do you mean that the interval timers actually mark laps, and that you will actually be able to read average pace for each interval during and after a session?

Yes

@@gustavahenriksson yes. I do it all the time. There are different data fields. Automatic lap pace average and lap pace average. The automatic one is for automatic laps. So they are separate. Really useful

@@gustavahenriksson so it works when using the interval timer or taking manual laps

Hopefully Polar addresses their Pricing, would be great for the market ❤

Have got a polar pacer pro. Does everything I need and more, and I like the app, although syncing can be a bit annoying. There are some v simple things polar could do to improve things generally but they appear simply to not take onboard feedback.

Thank you for yet another good review! Regarding phased workouts, I just wanted to point out that you don’t have to set a pulse, pace or power zone target, it is optional. What irritates me, however, is the fact that you won’t get a read on average interval pace during and after a phased session, as the watch doesn’t add laps for those workouts. I would like to do my complex interval sessions with target pace, and be able to monitor that. Being deep in the Polar Ecosystem, I’ve ordered and am expecting my GX2P this coming week. I am, however, considering the Suunto Vertical for its battery longevity and pacing possibilities. Do you have an opinion on those watches and ecosystems?

I'm happy with my V3. This expensive GX2P seems half baked to me for the asking price.

Sounds like a decent watch with a haphazard operating system, I'll stick to my Garmin
