How does this fit with your tiller handle and tilting for launching boat
@TheRyantannerАй бұрын
I have a Side Console on this boat, the 14' boat I have is a tiller with the same (1400) blind and it works fine, just need to be sure the handle is pointed up and over the cross brace, depending on the height of your gunnels to the tiller handle it could get caught under the cross brace

I have your same boat (PK Outlander 186 SC) and just bought the Beavertail 2200 to put on it. I know I'll have to make some modifictions to it too because of the V hull. I'll let you know how it goes.

I'll be interested to know how it works out for you. The 1800 fits but not sure how much better the 2200 would've been... depending on how high you want the blind you'll need to cut quite a bit off the front poles (the middle 2 poles) to make it equal to the height in the back... I still haven't gotten around to correcting that on mine

I’ve got the blind on it now. Still needs grassed up. But I’m happy to send pics. Let me know on that.

Tried it out for the first time this afternoon. Worked great. First group of Mallards we saw dumped right in and we dropped 4. Good “shakedown cruise” for the new blind!

How do you like the 2200 blind and how was the setup/modification? I also have the same boat and my Jerry rigged blind is on its last leg so I’m about to pull the trigger on the 2200
@seanmccosh28 күн бұрын
@@NH_Trapper I like it! I had to drill some holes in the front deck and make some mods, but in my opinion, it fits and conceals considerably better than the one in this video.

Hey Ryan! Been watching you reviews and I’m torn… Not sure if the CC or SC would be more user friendly. I’m wanting the casting deck but the SC for duck hunting. I’m assuming the CC would take up a spot for Someone to hunt? Really want that deck up front tho..
@TheRyantanner Жыл бұрын
the CC would be nice for fishing but would certainly cost you some room with the console and the raised deck.... I would bet a CC would cost you at least 1 seat... maybe 2 depending on how the holes in the blind align with the console. I also don't know how high the center console stands, it might make the beavertail blind not an option if you can't flip it over due to the console height

I dig this setup. Looking to upgrade my entire rig. Curious to see a video of how the duck hunting goes out of this blind. How does that boat do in really shallow water?
@TheRyantanner4 жыл бұрын
duck hunting from it is great, very comfortable, I do need to order the dog door and dog ladder since its totally encapsulated every bird ends up being a blind retrieve for the dog unless he's sitting outside the blind which I don't prefer.. as for you getting in and out, you have to flip the blind or squeeze out of the side, either way its not hard at all. the boat actually does go pretty shallow, you can draft it and push in like 12-14 inches of water, and the trolling motor does great getting around in those shallow weedy spots you don't want to run the main motor in. the only caution is to make sure in super shallow water your not going to damage that transducer by running it up on something
@TheRyantanner4 жыл бұрын
correction... I had it in 10 inches yesterday it drafted fine, just to get it stuck on a weed bed... she's heavy trying to push out lol

Awesome looking rig! Plan on picking up a 2010cc outlander very soon to use for guiding duck hunting and jigging rivers for walleye. I love hard sided blinds but am liking your set up as it is more versatile. You can lay the blind down and throw a layout boat across the bow or fold it up and use the boat for fishing. How is the blind holding up and how much rafia grass do you have on it?
@TheRyantanner3 жыл бұрын
yea agree, my alternative to this was either a banks or duckwater, I made the right choice as this is way more versatile for what I want to do, and before or after waterfowl season taking the blind off is 5 minutes work to loosen the bars and lift it off... that easy. the blind is still in great shape. the only complaint ( and its a very small one) is that you occasionally (like 2 times a season) need to pull the material forward about 2 inches on the frame cause of the travel it slides back and it makes the frame sit a little weird if you don't correct it but that all

Good looking set up! I just put the beaver tail 1600 on my boat! I still need to grass it! How’s the blind work in the field? Easy set up while on the water?
@TheRyantanner4 жыл бұрын
Super easy, just flip it over and you're hunting. We hunted yesterday in a 30+mph wind and it was fine. If you have a dog I would suggest getting the dog door OR having the dog crawl through the corner of the transom to get on the transom
@fwlmoodadventures46584 жыл бұрын
@@TheRyantanner thats awesome!!! do you have the dog door? is it difficult to install? my dog gained a little weight over the years lol. she might not be able to slip through!
@TheRyantanner4 жыл бұрын
@@fwlmoodadventures4658 I don't have it yet, I do know it requires you cutting the hole wherever you want and sewing the dog door in, probably be an off seasons project for me

Would the blind mount on the starboard side and clear controls and console?
@TheRyantanner3 жыл бұрын
I don’t think so, the frame would clear it but the material is too bulky for how close the throttle and console is to the side of the boat

Hi Ryan, I can never see both ends of the back part of the frame at the same time - did you have to do any modifications to get the blind to stretch from the max 86" width to 92" on the Polar Kraft? Thanks!
@TheRyantanner4 жыл бұрын
the back is actually fine, the widest part of the boat (92") is right by the gas cap cover toward the bow. I did just pull on the bottom piece to the frame to give it a little arch to it but it works out well, especially because the 4 holes can align with the 3 seat pedestals... if I had gotten the 2200 series blind I don't know how the seating would've worked out with 5 holes, another thing I did have to do was take 3" off the frame to correct to height of the frame, as it was you couldn't see down on the water sitting in the seats, you were basically looking at the horizon which presented a little challenge and that was with the travel cover..... because I cut the frame shorter it makes the blind a little wider when its collapsed so the travel cover in the middle where I bent it out + cut the frame short you need to muscle it a little to get it clipped... nothing that I regret doing but things I didn't anticipate happening when I set it up.... its been a little while and I've hunted out of it a handful of times... I'll try to make a video here of it being hunted to get a better idea of what it all looks like in the field
