Polar V650 | Get Started

I had to remove MS Windows 10 from my PC and revert to a more stable MS Windows 7 before I could down load and operate the Polar Flow software. The recommended earlier version of Polar Flow intigrates just fine with Windows 7, so thankfully I am up and running with my Polar V650. I purchased it because it looks good stylish; it offers a basic form of colour open source maps for route navigation, and because despite its 2014 release date, polar has continued to provide customers with firm ware updates. Firm ware updates show Polar want to keep their original customers who purchased the V650 happy, as they see newer technologies coming along offering greater functionality compared to their original released product. Obviously a company can only continue doing this for so long. From here on it falls down to the user. Do not blame your tools, just learn to use them properly and develop your own style of operation to suite your personality, character and capabilities.

My V650 worked properly until recently. Now it syncs ok but the results don’t show up on Polar flow or Strava. I didn’t change any settings.

Polar is only good for heart sensors. This one has always been a nightmare to sync (IOS, Android, mac or Win) and it's a pity because the product itself is good. 😑

Hi, polar. It will be great if polar V650 recorded all the cycling dynamics (Torque effectiveness, Pedal Smothness, Platform center offset, Power phase, Rider position). Actually it seems like only garmin do it. Could you implemented it in polar flow or by an other way ? Thanks for your answer.

The "background music" is way too loud.

I own one of these and can tell you honestly to avoid it. Always has sync issues, worst of all imported routes, although shown aligned to the map in import preview, do not always line up with maps on the device. When they are not aligned the v650 loses the route and your marker will gradually make it's way to the edge of the screen so you haven't got a clue what is coming up.

Just got mine, first time syncing on my MacBook Pro, 't sync with Flowsync at all. Followed all of the troubleshooting tips, still no result. Extremely disappointed that when a product is listed as being compatible with Mac OS and it won't synchronize with the program it uses. Hopefully customer service can be of help, otherwise i will be returning this product.

I have the same problem, tested on 2 different Mac since Oct 2019. Hopefully I also have a windows computer ! But it sounds like we are the only people having this trouble. Did you fix yours ?

@@hussTennis In setting on the actual bike computer, you have to change your operating system from windows to Mac OS in the about this product part of settings I had the same issue but this fixed it...

Terrible connectivity issues with Mac OS, it’s driving me crazy. Just wont sync. Seems like there’s plenty of Windows users with the same issues.

Do I need to use this with a computer or can I use it standalone? I don't want my ride history sold nor do I want to be spied on when I ride.

@@user-px9bd2kb5z Коннект с ПК либо смартфоном через "сраку" Портит всё впечатление. Оба устройства просто взбесили.

@@BOTASANROY он не хочется конектится с компом и со смартфоном. Удаётся порой проделать это с 8-10 попыток. Из хороших сторон то это наверное не плохой уровень приёма GPS и нормальная автономность. Сборка хорошая, качество материала удовлетворительное. А ко всему прочему на V 650 не получилось обновить карту (европейскую)
