Thanks Des for your usual comprehensive & succinct review. Would you please do a long term review on the battery life? I found after 18 months of semi regular use my OH1+ battery decreased to a couple hours and it would not hold charge for more than a day. Otherwise I would say the Polar Optical HRM is the best on the market. Accurate, records and does swimming.

That's interesting. I have an original OH1 that is still plugging away. I can't definitely say how much battery capacity it has but I've definitely gone away for a weekend without bringing the charger and was able to get in at least 5-6 hours of activities.

Did you ever try the swimming comparison again? Seems like there's a big enough difference in the two that you could take your pulse manually to tell which is correct (for instance right before turning off).

Can you recommend an inexpensive waterproof, IP68 watch to view my H.R. on? GPS on the watch, would be good as well. Thanks for all you do for the sporting community. Nice video.. Two things I forgot to mention to you regarding the Polar OH1 ..few times I did turn on the device and I went for a walk outside , then when I came back , I try to sync the device , but the data was not transmitted ... It happen few times ...Not a pleasant experience . And the second thing... once you see the data online after you did your workout ...What do you really get from it ?? You run too fast or too slow ?? Anything else ??

amazing review and detailed info. I have one question. I do have the Polar V3 for everyday activity and monitoring my walking or running sessions with it. Im pretty happy with the results, as i also have to compare on my other hand the Garmin Fenix 7 Pro and lately i use the Garmin Instinct 2X Solar. I would like to know if i can buy and use the verity sense to check the pulse rate on the Polar V3 instead of the measurement from sensor on the watch. I would like to have better heart rate results if possible, but the same time to monitor on the watch the heart rate come form the Verity sense. Is that possible?

2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the review! While it works with Garmin devices; what's the HR that will show on the watch screen while it's connected and you're out for a run? The onboard HR, or the HR that's being read from the Verity sense? For example, the HRM-Pro pushes the data to the Fenix and shows it live on the screen while working out. ...And that same data will sync to Garmin connect, right, in place of the watches onboard HR?

The Velcro closer is so bad. Knew from day one it would end up bugging me. I’ve thought about sawing it shut. The only real benefit from being able to open the strap up is in cleaning and drying. Other the that, a good product, comfortable to wear, easy to connect.

Gosh, well I most definitely not a kickboxer! 😁 but if you were to wear it, I’d suggest placing the sensor on the inside of your bicep to avoid any contact. Otherwise, it performs well for HIIT so the HR that it collects should be pretty good. Thanks!

FitBit really keep to themselves with data... I haven’t been successful in sending any raw data to fitbit that wasn’t originally recorded on a fitbit device, but hopefully at some point in the future they fix that! I do know that you can sync some platforms together (like FB and Strava, MyFitnessPal, etc) so you may have luck on that route!

can the Fenix 6 or 7 connect with verity sense to receive data during a swim, do you have a link to any swim testing done thanks
@DesFit
@DesFit 2 жыл бұрын
Bluetooth and ANT+ don't transmit through water well, so what the Fenix 6 and 7 do is download stored HR from compatible HRMs. The Garmin HRM-Swim, HRM-Tri, and HRM-Pro have this functionality. The Verity Sense can store HR information but it stays within the Polar ecosystem.
