Good video for troubleshooting Voltage Regulator. I had early 2004 Sportsman 500 with only two yellow wires coming from stator. (one yellow and one yellow/red) Connectors at the regulator coming from stator were corroded. Cleaned with WD-40 and reconnected. Battery charging again. Thanks from Den in Wisconsin

Thank you so much for the video on explaining everything, where did you purchase your voltage rectifier/regulator I have sportsman's 500 4x4 that has the same five wire out on the regulator.

Im trying to figure out if the battery needs to be connected for the charging system to work. My machine starts and runs but has no lights without a battery. When its connected everything powers up and i dont see a drain on the battery.

With the engine running and battery disconnected everything should still work. Sounds like you charging system is not working right.
